"Cassie Stewart of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away on October 1, 2023 at the age of 74. She was born in Seattle, Washington to the late Rev. Anthony Casurella, Sr. and Mildred Casurella. Mrs. Stewart was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church where she served as a Stephen's minister and intercessory prayer warrior. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Anthony Casurella, Jr. , sister Teresa Herman and son Matthew McKay. She is survived by her loving husband Roger Stewart, daughter Shelly (Ross) Dye, son Joel (Angela) McKay, stepson Ken Stewart, stepdaughter Kristena (Jim) Savley and fourteen grandchildren. Cassie graduated from Aurora High School in Illinois. She went on to study psychology at Greenville College. She worked for over 12 years with the chiropractor that took care of the Dallas Cowboys. She later became a Vice President for an Engineering Division of Service Masters. She also worked with the Sumner County Literacy Council as an Irlen Screener. She was an artist that enjoyed painting and was a gifted writer. She had written several articles for the Celiac Spur Association in Washington, DC. Cassie will be sorely missed by her family. She lived out what it meant to be a Proverbs 31 wife and mother. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, October 9, 2023, 12:00 noon in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, Tennessee with Jay Luthy officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 11:00 a. m. until time of service on Monday. Roger Gregory Foley, known to all as Greg, a loving and kind man, passed away unexpectedly at the Sumner Regional Medical Center on December 9, 2023. He was born on January 17, 1952, in Somerset, KY. Greg's warm heart and generous spirit touched the lives of many throughout his lifetime. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alford and Lois Foley. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Phyllis Foley, daughter Christian (Andrew) DeYoung, Hope (Malcom) Roberts, son Seth Foley, and his grandchildren Emma and Philip. Greg is also survived by his sisters Patty (James) Betts and Monica (Mike) Crockett, as well as a number of nieces and a nephew. With a zest for life, Roger dedicated many years of his life to teaching. He shared his knowledge and wisdom with countless students, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. For three years, he served as a substitute teacher at Beech High School, bringing creativity and compassion into the classroom. Prior to his retirement, Roger worked at Bosch Automotive, where his dedication and strong work ethic shone through. Family was everything to Greg. He cherished spending time with his loved ones and always went above and beyond to help and take care of them. His selflessness knew no bounds as he made it his priority to ensure their happiness and well-being. In addition to his career and love for family, Greg enjoyed several hobbies and interests that brought him immense joy. He had a passion for shopping and delighted in finding special treasures for himself and others. As an avid fan of the Tennessee Titans Football team, Greg never missed watching a game. He also had a soft spot for Hallmark movies that warmed his heart. Traveling was another one of Greg's greatest pleasures in life. He found great excitement in exploring new destinations and creating lasting memories with his family. One of his favorite places to visit was Disney World, where he would immerse himself in the magic alongside those he loved most. Greg's extroverted nature made him a friend to all. He possessed a remarkable ability to make others feel accepted and at ease in his presence. His infectious laughter filled rooms with joy and his witty sense of humor often left people doubled over with laughter. Greg's commitment to faith was evident through his involvement in the First Baptist Church in Hendersonville, where he was a valued member. He also attended services at Long Hollow Church, where he found solace and spiritual nourishment. Roger Gregory Foley will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will forever be treasured as we remember the joy he brought into our lives. Roberta Marie Elrod, 83 of Hendersonville, TN passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023. She was born to the late Albert and Lela Corleissen on November 7, 1940, in Berea, Ohio. Roberta graduated from Litton High School, in Nashville Tennessee. She worked in her younger years for Opry star Faron Young, then later worked as an administrative assistant and office manager for several companies including Genesco and Washington Manufacturing. Roberta had a heart for others and would help anyone who asked. She loved her grandchildren with all of her being. She loved all animals, especially dogs, and would even place a bucket of water in her front yard for dogs to get a drink on a hot day. Roberta loved the Lord and was active in her church up until her illness began several years ago. She loved cooking, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. Roberta also loved going for walks. Roberta is survived by her daughter, Pam Gilbert; son, Craig (Glenna) Underhill; grandchildren Jesse (Tiffany) Bryan, Hunter Gilbert, Ashleigh Gilbert, Gabrielle (Dustin) Lucas, Savannah Underhill, Ethan Underhill, Keaton Underhill, and Olivia Underhill; nephew, David (Vickie) Roach. Other than her parents Roberta is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Elrod; son, Ray Underhill and sister, Phyllis Roach. Marjorie Ann "Margie" Carver, 92, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023. Margie was born on June 15, 1931, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Floyd Edward Pogue and Mary Moody (Cowherd) Pogue. Margie had a unique and great sense of humor with a zest for life. She loved her family and her church family at Hendersonville First Baptist Church. Margie was a long- time active member of the church. In addition, Margie was a member of Gideon’s International. Margie is preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Mary Pogue; her husband Charles Neilan "Charlie" Carver; her sister Julia May; and her beloved dog Muffin. She is survived by her brother-in-law Phil Carver; nieces Cheryl (Tony) Goodman and Patty May; nephews John Edward (Luann) May and Will (Joy) Carver; great nieces Claudia (Darko Escobar) Antezana and Madison May; great nephews Zachary (Deana) May, Jeremy Wilson, and Morgan (Christina) May; cousins Kristen Young and Pamela Lassiter along with numerous other extended family and friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, from 12pm-2pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2pm in the Chapel at the funeral home. Wayne Edward Lamborn, 73, passed away on November 29, 2023. Wayne was born on May 30, 1950, in Oakland, California to William and Julia (Proctor) Lamborn. Wayne loved "puttering" around the house and helping at his church. Wayne was very proud that his family was one of the founding families of Our Lady of Lake Catholic Church. He would always offer his help on different projects for the church. Wayne graduated from Hendersonville High School Class of 1969. While in high school, he played drums in the marching band. After high school graduation, Wayne was in the Army serving in Okinawa as a military police officer. Upon returning from military service, he joined his brother Gary in the church folk group at our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, where he played the drums. Wayne also had a small recording studio at their home for several years. Wayne followed in the footsteps of his father, becoming an electrician, with his entire career in that field of expertise. Wayne was an avid photographer and could be seen with a camera everywhere he went. On January 5, 1985, Wayne married the love of his life Mary Sternhagen. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents William and Julia. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Mary; daughter Nicole Lamborn; son Andrew Lamborn; brother Gary (Elizabeth) Lamborn; nephew Brody (Ashley) Luna; niece Celia (Joseph) Jenkins along with numerous extended family and friends. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 5pm-7pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited beginning at 7pm. The funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church beginning at 11am. Burial will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. "Dr. David Andrew Lewellen, (Lt. Colonel, Ret. ) passed away on November 16th, 2023, in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He was born on May 5th, 1938, in Memphis, Tennessee to Aubrey Andrew Lewellen and Marie Foley Lewellen. Dr. Lewellen was a pediatric dentist. He obtained his dental degree in 1972 and his specialty in 1977. After he obtained his dental degree, he was director of dental services at Arlington Developmental Center for the Handicapped and an associate professor in the children's clinic at the University of Tennessee Dental School prior to obtaining his specialty degree. He moved to Nashville in 1978 and opened his first pediatric dental practice in Madison. He also opened an additional office at Maryland Farms in Brentwood and retired from dentistry in 2003. Dr. Lewellen also served his country in the Tennessee Air National Guard. He joined the Memphis unit in 1955 while still in high school. He became a flight engineer and flew many miles around the world. He left the Memphis unit as a master sergeant in 1974 and transferred to the Nashville hospital, where he was commissioned as a captain. He retired in 1993 as a Lieutenant Colonel after 38 years of service. He is survived by his wife Cynthia Duncan Lewellen, daughters Julie Flannagan and Kelly Nelson; son Kevin (Janet) Lewellen; stepdaughter Karen (Sean) Anderson; stepson Andy Tubb; beloved grandchildren Brady Dodson, Allie Dodson, Aidan Flannagan, Keegan Flannagan, Juliana Nelson, Jenna Claire (Tyler) Woody, Justin (Kelly) Lewellen, Caitlin Lewellen, and Ashleigh Lewellen; great-grandchildren Ava Rose, Darby, and Elias; sister Bunny (Benny) Krag; brother Sam (Linda) Lewellen; and a host of extended family and dear friends. Wayne Cecil Gilbreath, age 92, of Cottontown, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, in Hendersonville, Tennessee surrounded by family. He was born on October 10, 1931, in Alvaton, Kentucky, to the late Archie and Lou Gilbreath. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kathryn Gilbreath; and his sister Wanda Wimpee. He is survived by his children, Patty Gilbreath, Tim Gilbreath (Karen), Billy Gilbreath (Lorie); grandchildren, Kristen Haven (Brandon), TJ Gilbreath (Erin), Amanda Nobley (Barry), April Duport (Rob), Logan Gilbreath; one brother, Benny Gilbreath, and one sister Bettye Shelton. He was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Wayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed helping people and making them laugh. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force. Upon moving his family to Hendersonville, he was a song writer and in 1966 he won a BMI for his song, "What Kind of Deal is This". He later went to work at W. R. Durham and Sons Lumber Company until he retired. He was also a preacher at Palmer’s Chapel in White House, TN. After retiring he went back to work as a security guard for U. S. Tobacco in Nashville and then R. R. Donnelley in Gallatin. He will be missed by his family and friends and all those who knew him.
