Beverle was cremated; a Funeral Mass and memorial service in her honor will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at St. Mary's Church at 401 North Street in Chardon, Ohio. Bev had little tolerance for "apcray" and those who knew her can take comfort in the knowledge that she no longer has to put up with any of it! Born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 17, 1938, Beverle was a celebrity at Maplewood of Chardon, where she resided for the last few years. She was loved and well cared for by both the staff and residents and will be greatly missed. Bev graduated with her Master of Arts Degree in nursing in 1985 from John Carroll University and spent the majority of her working career as a registered nurse at the V. A. Hospital in Cleveland. In her younger years she worked in the equestrian field, training and tending to polo ponies, travelling up and down the east coast to competitions with them and their owner. Bev loved riding horses herself and traveled with "Squaw," her favorite, all over the United States, entering shows along the way. An animal lover, Bev made her home on a ten-acre farm in Geauga County in a house she designed and had built to her specifications. She loved spending time there with her myriad of animals, including her horse, donkeys, sheep, a steer, goats, rabbits, dogs, and birds. She was involved with and supported the Geauga County Park District and was an advocate for natural habitats and all types of wildlife, flora and particularly fauna. Bev was an artist and art instructor; she loved to paint and draw and teach others to do the same. She won several juried art shows, traveled to painting seminars, and taught watercolor classes in Shaker Heights, Euclid, and the Geauga Senior Center. Her love of art and her eclectic taste was reflected in her home and its unique furnishings. Beverle was a member of The Red Hat Society, a worldwide membership society that encourages women in their quest to get the most out of life, which Beverle did, on her own terms. Unconventional but confident and witty and sometimes sarcastic (!), Beverle was brave, and outgoing. She found happiness by pursuing and realizing her dreams irrespective of what others thought and, even in her darkest hours, found the wherewithal to encourage and inspire others to do the same. A world traveler, she climbed mountains and swam the Great Barrier Reef, among other excursions. She had friends from all over the world from all walks of life and was loved and adored by many. Beverle is survived by her sister Jeanne Vivian Newton's children, nephew Gregory James Newton, niece Cheryl Lee Robinson, and niece Noelle May Flaherty, all of whom reside in Texas. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Edward Krueger, who had two children, Thelma and Charles.
