Zohner, Neoma Virginia (nee Keck), born May 7th, 1934, & passed away, Friday Nov. 24 2023. Beloved wife of the late Robert Zohner. Loving mother of Jeffrey (Karen) Zohner, Thomas (Julia) Zohner and Jennifer (Derek) West. Dearest Grandmother of eleven, and great-grandmother of four. Mom lived on Flad Ave. in St Louis until she was 10 years old when her family moved to a farm outside Millstadt, Ill. Where she walked to school at a one room schoolhouse for her 7th & 8th grades. Mom met the love of her life in 1953, when Bob was a telephone repairman for Southwestern Bell, and he visited the phone office where she worked. They were married for 67 years until Bob passed in 2022. Mom lived a long and blessed life with her large and extended families. She loved camping, hiking and travelling and had many travel adventures in the US and abroad. Mom and dad started their married life in a house that Bob built on Geremma Drive in Ballwin Mo. They made many lifelong friends there and started their family, while dad worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone. There was a short stay in St. Joseph when dad was transferred there with his job. Upon returning to St. Louis in 1964, mom found a house in Sunset Hills, Mo. where they would live for the next 50 years. Mom attended Webster University and graduated "Cum Laude" with a degree in Psychology at the age of 49!Mom was active in her local church, attended bible studies, had a Bridge Club circle that lasted over 50 years, was a Girl Scout leader for 15 years, and volunteered at the St. Louis Zoo for many years. Mom loved the Christmas season, the LP's playing on the stereo, the decorating, shopping, tree trimming, baking and family get togethers. We always had three Christmases. One with the Kecks, One with the Carpenters, and our Family one. Even though mom was in the memory care unit the last few years, she enjoyed having her husband Bob visit her, take her for walks and outside to see the countryside from the overlook at Meramec Bluffs. She still enjoyed the church services at the Bluffs and would sing along quietly remembering the words to the old hymns. There is no way to fully understand how mom made a difference. Her life made ripples that are still spreading out in the pond of life. They are good ripples, full of laughter, joy and happiness. Somewhere along the way, her children have all come to a saving faith in Christ our Lord, who died on the cross for our sins. She was the matriarch of our family and last of her generation to pass.
