Betty Ann Webb, 88, of Avon Lake, Ohio passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 24, 1934, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to parents Admiral Dewey and Leah Eugina (nee Lewis) Orr. Betty was raised in Tuscaloosa alongside six siblings. After graduation she moved north at the age of 18 to join her sister in the Cleveland area. She worked as a secretary at Society National Bank downtown and began faithfully attending church where she soon met Charles Webb. After a brief courtship they were married at Church of the Open Door in Elyria on November 19, 1955, just before Charles was restationed in Chicago by the US Army. Betty got busy with the work of making their house a home, and they soon welcomed a son, Scott, followed by a daughter, Barb, into their home. Several years later two more sons, Randy and Dana, joined their home making the family complete. Betty was an excellent baker and seamstress. She was often asked to bless others with her wedding cake creations, and even sewed her own wedding dress along with numerous pieces of clothing for her children. Betty was welcoming and friendly, always hospitable and "never met a stranger. " She was a beautiful southern belle, even up north!Above everything, Betty was a great wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, and aunt. This devotion to her family was a result of her love and relationship with Jesus. She was always sharing her faith, joy, and love for God with others. She was a long-time greeter at Calvary Baptist (now Anchor) Church with her husband, and most recently was teaching the hymn "My Jesus, I love thee" to some of her loving care workers. Betty is survived by her loving children Scott Webb, Barb Patterson (Dale), Randy Webb (Denise), and Dana Webb (Sharon); cherished grandchildren Kyle Patterson, Drew Patterson (Kandice), Cody Patterson (Rebekah), Leah Smith (Todd), Tricia Webb, Nathan Spence, and Lily Webb; dear great grandsons Jagger, Teague, Aspen, Caspian, and Bellamy; and sister Celia Criswell.
