Angela Henninger Schamore

Angela Henninger Schamore, age 87 of Hardinsburg, KY, passed away February 24, 2024 at Norton Hospital in Louisville. Angela was born in Breckinridge County, KY on May 28, 1936, daughter of the late Franklin Scott and Eula Ruth Bruce Henninger. She was a member of Hardinsburg United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. Angela served the public for many years working various jobs - the Breckinridge County Clerk's Office, Hardinsburg City Council, the Mayor of Hardinsburg and the Farmers Bank where she greeted customers with a friendly smile. Angela was a very affectionate person and the first to give a hug or handshake. She loved to entertain family and friends in her home, which always meant having a bite to eat, reminisce, play cards and plenty of laughter. Angela loved her family beyond measure and was so proud of them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dennis Lee Schamore, Sr. who died August 21, 2023 and her son-in-law Tony Thornton. Angela is survived by 3 children: Denise Ann Thornton of Louisville, KY; Dennis Lee Schamore, Jr. and his wife Patte of Sellersburg, IN and Dean Alan Schamore of Hardinsburg, KY. 10 grandchildren: Kirstie Stevenson (Myles), Brad Thornton, Bryan Thornton (Jessica); Kody Thornton (Miranda); Ahna Schamore-Rice (Kevin), Sarah Schamore, Trent Schamore, Corey Schamore-Mikel (Zach), Deana Schamore and Danna Schamore 13 great grandchildren: Kaylee, Karlee, Kynlee, Shelby, Brady, Ryleigh, Bentley, Tate, Joanna, Henry, Zalan, Devianna and Alana 3 great great grandchildren: Connor, Charlotte and Cali 1 sister: Mary Jo Johnson (Bob) of Snellville, GA Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 1 PM with burial in the Cave Spring Cemetery. "James Thomas Jones, 69, of Louisville passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at the Hildegard House following an illness. He was born on December 27, 1954 at King’s Daughters Hospital in Shelbyville, to Robert E. Jones and Patsy Durham Jones. He was a 1972 graduate of Shelby County High School, was an employee of UPS, enjoyed all types of films including international films, and enjoyed gardening, especially growing heirloom tomatoes, horseracing and going to the Kentucky Derby. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Jones. He is survived by his mother, Patsy Durham Jones; stepdaughters, Tammy Styers and Angie Crowe; granddaughter, Christine Crowe; sister, Mary Patricia Jones; and brother, Robert David Jones (Cheri). No formal services will be held. It was his wish to be cremated and to be interred with his ancestors at the New Castle Cemetery. A private graveside memorial service will be held at the New Castle Cemetery later in the spring. Mary Kate Bond, 95, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on July 11, 1928, to Elmer and Mary Phillips in Erlanger, Kentucky. Mary loved her family unconditionally, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. She was deeply religious, and spent a lot of time spreading fellowship at the church. Mary based her life on faith and love. This was evident in her marriage, and she and her husband, Thomas, complimented each other completely and were one another’s rock. Mary was also a hard worker. At her retirement party from Kroger, she joked about how much time she spent in her car on the Watterson. She detailed it down to the minute, Mary was very meticulous and detail oriented. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed getting dressed up and going out to dinner, going on car rides, hosting and cooking for family gatherings, reading, painting, and listening to audio books. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mary Early Phillips; her loving husband, Thomas J. Bond; daughter, Robin Shamshak; sister, Virginia L. Bean; and a grandson, Brandon Bond. Left to cherish her memory, Mary is survived by 4 nieces, Judy Rothenhausler, Margerie Patterson, Donna Cameron, and Missy Metzger; caregivers, Dennis J. and Eliota M. Addison; and a host of extended family and close friends. She was a longtime member of Church of the Ascension Catholic Church, where she taught CDC classes to the children. Her primary focus in life was her family. She married the love of her life Gerald “Tom” and they raised 5 wonderful children, who gave her 7 grandchildren that were the light of her life. She was also an avid reader, gardener, and loved to decorate her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Jeanie Settles and her brother, Bill Higdon. Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Gerald “Tom” Hamilton, her children, Jerry Hamilton, Geoff Hamilton (Lisa), Laura Thomas (Charlie), Danny Hamilton (Jill), Julie Kieckhefer (Paul), her grandchildren, Jared, Evan, Rachel, Megan, Jordan, Alaina and Nathan, her sisters, Alicia Matthews, Frankie Visnaw, Dorothy Jett, Cathy Lawson and Lee Smith and her brothers, Bob, Larry, Tom and Paul Higdon. Neal Allen Tingle, 62, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, February 22, 2024. He was born January 18, 1962 in Madison, Indiana, son of Evan James Tingle and Betty Faye Taylor Dean. Neal was a retired manager for Sherwin - Williams Paint Company where he worked since 1989. He was a member of Fern Creek Baptist Church where he was an ordained deacon, beloved Sunday School teacher , and current leader of the Men's Ministry and Wednesday evening worship leader. He served on various committees at the church, attended mission trips to Honduras, previously sang in the choir and was an ever present volunteer at many church events. Neal earned an Eagle Scout Award and served as a scoutmaster for Scout Troop 875 and later as a liaison to several troops. He volunteered at the voting polls at most every election and was a foster parent to dozens of children. In addition to his parents, Neal was preceded in death by his brother, Jason Dean; and son, Wesley Means, Jr. He is survived by children, Amanda Morgan (Jacob Miller), Andrew M. Tingle, Curt A. Allen and Reamus P. Gatewood; grandchildren, Trinity Tingle, Jameson MIller and Cameron Miller; and siblings, Mike Tingle, Steve Dean and Jessica Veech. His funeral is 11am Friday, March 1, 2024 at Fern Creek Baptist Church, 5920 Bardstown Road. Visitation is 3-7pm Thursday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road and after 10am Friday until the time of the service at the church. Jeffrey (Jeff) L. Malone age 75, of Louisville, KY passed away peacefully on Monday February 19, 2024. Jeff was a Christian, a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She is reunited with her loving husband of 56 years Mike Malone, who passed away just 7 weeks ago. Jeff is survived by her daughter Joley Klondike (Rod), and son Lee Malone (Jennifer). Jeff was a loving “Granna” to her 5 grandchildren: Tyler, Jensen, Jeffrey, Jacob, and Sarah (Fiancé Neal). She is also survived by her sister Peggy Williams, sisters-in-law Mitzi Skaggs (Kenneth), Diane Worrell (Bill), and several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Jeff retired from Jefferson Co. Public Schools where she worked as a family resource center liaison and enjoyed working closely with special needs children and families. Early in her career she was a very talented floral designer, working on weddings, special events, and the Garland of Roses for the Kentucky Derby. She enjoyed decorating (especially for Christmas), spending time with family, friends, and her labradoodle Harley. Jeff had a heart of gold and will be missed by many. A celebration of life with family and friends will be held on Friday, March 29th from 3-6pm at the Locust Creek Neighborhood Clubhouse (18500 Longview Park Lane, Louisville, KY 40245)
