"Lilia Sue Harris, 72, of Canton, GA, passed unexpectedly at Northside Hospital Cherokee, with her loving family by her side, on December 04, 2023. She is preceded in death by her mother Josephine Horton, and two brothers Johnny and Steve Lucas. Several half brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband of 53 years David M. Harris Sr. , her three children, Tabatha Haun, Mike Harris Jr, Angie Stacy, thirteen grandchildren Ashley Daniel, Victoria, David, Zak, Alissa, Ethan, Kennley Harris, Travis, Tyler, Emily, Aspen, Fyves, and Jett Stacy and ten great grandchildren Madison Golden, Adelynn , Finnley, Davis, Kayson, Harlan, Archer, Paisley, Koby, Oliver, and Ivy, her sister JoAnn Warren and several stepbrothers, stepsisters, nieces and nephews. Sue loved crocheting especially when Christmas time came around because everyone loved getting a new blanket, she had made every year. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She always went above and beyond decorating the house. She took pride in her tree. Anyone that's ever had the pleasure of seeing it, they would all agree she always had the most beautiful one. Sue welcomed everyone and made an everlasting impression on those that she met. The love for her family will never be forgotten and she left behind a legacy of love. She will be missed by many and remembered forever. Services will be held at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home Historic Marietta Chapel 180 Church Street Marietta, GA 30060 on Friday December 8, 2023 at 11am. Linda Harper Godfrey, age 86, born on October 29, 1937, in Massillon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2023, in Canton, Georgia. A spirited and feisty soul, Linda was known for her sharp wit and love for playing cards, especially canasta, where she shone as a true card shark. Her love for Hallmark movies was unparalleled, providing endless hours of joy and comfort. An avid traveler, Linda explored the world with zest, always ready for a new adventure. Yet, she cherished spending time with her family and friends above all else, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ken May officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 5th from 11:00 a. m. until 9:00 p. m. and Wednesday from 11:00 a. m. until the funeral hour. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Godfrey; and three brothers; survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff Godfrey (Stacey), Brad Godfrey (Barbie) and Russell Godfrey (Donna); brother, Stanley Harper; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; as well a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Stanley Eugene Underwood, 68, of Canton, Georgia, passed away Friday, November 24,2023. Stanley was born on September 14, 1955, in Canton, GA, the son of the late Stanton and Linnie Bell Underwood. Stanley married the love of his life, June Thompson and was blessed with two children, Brandy Underwood Kelly and Brandon Stanley Underwood. Stanley's family was his greatest love. He was a friend to all and will be missed by many. Great memories with Stanley will remain in the lives of all who knew him. He was employed by the Cherokee County Road Department and enjoyed sitting in the swing with his wife, welding, and loved spending time with his family. Stanley was Saved at Briar Patch Church in Waleska GA and was reunited in Heaven with his Mother & Father, who preceded him in death. Stanley is survived by his wife of 38 years, June Thompson Underwood; daughter, Brandy Underwood Kelly (Joshua); son, Brandon Stanley Underwood; grandchildren, Mackenzie Leanne Kelly and Matthew James Kelly; sisters, Eugenia Beverly (Walter), Brenda Gravley (Larry); brother, Steve Underwood (Tammy); and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. William (Bill) David Conlin, age 84, of Canton, Georgia passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023. Bill was born September 17, 1939 to Madeline Ash Conlin and William Arthur Conlin and grew up in Union, NJ. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Bill had a great sense of humor, and any room he walked into immediately became THE place to laugh. . . a Lot! . . . and Loudly! He loved his family "to the moon and back!" Bill enjoyed traveling, golf, boating, fishing and was a big history buff (trips to a museum were all day affairs). Bill and Lorraine traveled the world together, and he should have been a paid advertiser for the US National Parks and Alaska Cruise Lines, which he seemed to work into any conversation. He also loved telling stories about growing up on his aunt and uncle's farm in New Jersey - yes, NJ has farms!!. He worked at Prudential of over 30 years and still stayed in regular contact with many of his friends from Pru and with his high school buddies. Bill and Lorraine lived in NJ, GA, and FL, and he loved watching the Georgia Bulldogs, his Tampa Bay Lightning, and his grandkids sporting events. Bill will be loved and missed by all that knew him. Bill is survived by his sons Bill Conlin, Tom Conlin, sister Ruth Murphy (Bill), granddaughters Kelly Clark (Ben), Michelle Stevens (Ken), great granddaughters Brittany Cash Walker, Kinley Stevens, Mariella Stevens, great grandson Brantley Clark, great great-grandsons Kayson Walker and Kaiden Walker. Frank Leslie Brundage Jr, 80, of Canton, GA, passed away on November 13, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on May 27, 1943, in Newburgh, NY, to the late Frank Brundage Sr. and Margaret Newell. Frank proudly served in the U. S. Navy from 1960 to 1964. He was a dedicated and skilled serviceman, embodying the values of honor, courage, and commitment. After his military service, Frank pursued a career as a skilled drywall finisher and owned an appliance moving company before finishing his career as a truck driver for Local 445. His dedication and strong work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Charlotte Brundage, his son Frank Brundage III, daughter-in-law Janice Brundage, and their children Cassandra and Melanie who reside in Canton, Georgia. He is also survived by his son Dustin Brundage, daughter-in-law Priscilla Brundage, and their children Gregory, Emilia, and Nathan who reside in Walden, New York; siblings Barbara Cooper and William Brundage. Frank was predeceased by his sister Gwenda Lynn. Frank and his wife shared a profound commitment to nurturing children, extending their love by fostering several foster children over the years. He enjoyed sports and nothing more than watching both his children and grandchildren play, he would never miss an event. Through the years he also served as local little league president, board member, and assistant softball coach at Mt St Mary College in Newburgh NY. Frank loved to bake and was always called upon for his skill as a drywall finisher by family and friends even after he retired. A ceremony to honor Frank's life will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA, on December 27th at 11:30 AM. Frank will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.Show more

Donald Raymond Sherburn Sr. of Ballground Georgia passed away peacefully at home on November 9, 2023, at 77 years old. He will be greatly missed for his sense of humor and wild tales about his life’s stories. His love for people and genuine concern for everyone was evident by his Christian nature. He loved his family, and his children deeply. He was patient and always accepting of people just as they were. Donald was born in Lancaster, Ohio. He spent his early years dabbling in work such as working in a glass factory and working on machinery. His ultimate joy in work was found when he learned the art of welding and fabrication. He retired from Wheelabrator Group in LaGrange Georgia in 2008. He was very proud of his work and endeavored to be the best in his craft. Donald enjoyed fishing and was very good at it. He delighted in gold prospecting and eagerly watched shows to learn it. Donald is survived in life by his five children, Donald Sherburn Jr (Nancy), Barbara Pierce (Todd), Lisa Sherburn, Michael Sherburn (Matthew Coleman) and Allison Hyde (Micheal). He was especially fond of babies and was survived by his grandchildren, Michael and Dakota Pierce (Barbara), Cara Sherburn (Donald Jr. ) Wilson and Jessica Chancey (Lisa), Bailee and Ryland Hyde (Allison) and great grandchildren, Sophia, Lilith and Miles Pierce, Maliah Martin, Luke and Leia Michaels. He is also survived by his brother Robert Sherburn (Terry). Memorial Services will take place Friday at Antioch Christian Church on Sugarpike Road in Canton Georgia at 7pm.
