Betty Mae Smith August 23, 1942-October 7,2023 Betty Mae Smith was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend She went to be with the Lord on October 7, 2023, at the age of 81 She was born to Russell and Edna Hoffman on August 23, 1942, in new Bethlehem, PA She later moved to Springfield, Ohio where she met her husband Robert (Bob) Smith and married in 1969 She and Bob lived in Jeffersonville, Ohio running their family farm together She is survived by her daughters, their spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren Jodi (Greg) Bentley, Ridley Helsel ( Derickya Massie), Lennox and Harlow Helsel, Weston Helsel, Brock Bentley(Jordan Sutphin), Justin Wines and Clay Wines, Donna Guthrie (Adam Riner), Colson and Conner Guthrie Several Brothers, Sisters, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Special Friends She is proceeded in death by her parents, Husband, and brother Betty was very active throughout her life in Fayette Co She was a member at Midway Presbyterian Church and attended the Jeffersonville Methodist and Church of Christ She was a member of the birthday club in Jeffersonville and organized the Halloween Parade years ago She loved spending time with her family and being on the farm She was pristine at canning, cooking, and decorating her home Her laugh was infectious As per Bettys wishes no services will be held and a private burial at Range TWP Cemetery in Sedalia Ohio at a later date In leu of flowers Memorial contributions can be sent to ProMedica Hospice 208 N Fayette ST Washington CH, Ohio 43160 To to the family or in memory of Betty Mae Smith, please

The life of Jeffery Glenn Skaggs, born April 6th, 1961, was taken away in a tragic accident on Saturday, November 25th, 2023. He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Glenn Skaggs, and survived by his mother Bertha, brothers Timothy (Renee) Skaggs and Michael (Tanya) Skaggs, his wife Cindy, sons Jonathan (Rebecca) Skaggs and Brian Skaggs (Megan Wilson) and their daughter, Audrey; daughter Karen Skaggs, bonus-daughter Brooke (Aaron) Dennis and their children, Wyatt, Lucy and Eli; bonus-son Brandon (Sarah) Banks and their children, Janta, Noah and Lola. Jeffery served in the United States Army as a Ranger from 1984 to 1987 and was stationed in Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. During his time in the military, he served in the Military Police and was given the rank of E5, Sergeant. He spent time in Honduras during his service and was honorably discharged. Jeffery was a member of the Fayette County Church of Christ. He was also a volunteer firefighter at the Concord-Greene Fire Department where he was appointed the rank of Captain in 2016. During his time as a first responder, Jeffery was known to always be one of the first to arrive on scene and one of the first to help wherever he could in any situation. He also enjoyed reaching out to the community and loved presenting the Fire in The Sky 4th of July fireworks show for more than 20 years. Jeff was a pillar of the community, but he was also very important to his family, and they to him. He was a loving son, devoted husband, a treasured father, and a beyond loved, never boring "Pap". He enriched the lives of everyone and was always quick to answer a call, lend a tool, help fix something, or deliver a bad joke. Your family already misses you tremendously and nothing will ever fill the hole that has been left in our hearts, but we will continue to keep you alive in our memories and our hearts. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023, in the Grace Community Church with Mike Skaggs officiating, burial to follow in the Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeff's name are suggested to: Concord-Greene Fire Department, C/O Bridget Sollars, 1325 Miami Trace Rd, SW, Washington C. H. , Ohio 43160. Ann Cox, 88, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 7:50 p. m. at St. Catherine's Manor of Washington Court House where she had been residing the past year. Ann was born September 6, 1935, in Fayette County, Ohio to William McKinley and Anna Marie Greenwalt Dews. She was a 1953 graduate of Washington High School and was a lifelong resident of this community. She formerly was a medical assistant for Dr. Joseph Herbert and Dr. Warren Craig. Ann attended Heritage Church, had been a member of the community band and the Washington Lioness Club. Her passion was taking care of her family and home. She enjoyed flowers and gardening and was a pet lover. She was preceded in death by her husband, P. Wesley Cox on November 19, 2022, and a brother, Mac Dews, Jr. on December 10, 2016. She is survived by four children, Joseph Alan Cox and his wife, Janice, of Alpharetta, GA; Jennifer Ann Heiny and her husband, Mark, of Washington Court House, Jonathan Dews Cox and his wife, Cindy, of Jeffersonville and Jason Daniel Cox and his wife, Jennifer, of Mason, OH; eight grandchildren, Morgan Cox, Mallory (Ethan) Cunningham, Molly (Terry) Gruber, Jake Pollock, Alicia (Nathan) Dill, Logan, Nathan and Katie Cox; six great grandchildren, Macy, Megan, Paislee, Roman, Macklin, Jovie and a great great granddaughter, Daisy. To honor her wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no service or visitation. A private memorial service will be observed by her family at a later date.
