"She was born July 27, 1929, in Winnebago County at home, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rosina Palecek. In 1930 the family moved to Rush Lake, Wisconsin, on the farm. Betty graduated from Omro High School with the class of 1947. On June 20, 1951, she married Francis G. Sedarski at St. Joseph\u0027s Catholic Church in Berlin. They started out living in the City of Berlin until moving out on the homestead on Puchyan Road, Berlin, in 1956. Betty worked nine years as a schoolteacher. She graduated from Green Lake County Teacher\u0027s College and attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She drove the Berlin Senior Van for 20 years and worked at Eskimo Comfort for 30 years. She was involved in 4-H for over 35 years and was a member of HCE (formerly Wisconsin Homemakers) for over 50 years. Betty volunteered many hours at the Berlin Food Pantry and Berlin Senior Center. Betty was a faithful member of All Saints Catholic Parish of Berlin, where she served mass for many years. She was a Eucharistic minister and reader at St. Joseph\u0027s and All Saints. She was also a member and held offices in St. Joseph\u0027s Altar Society and was a member of CCW at All Saints. Betty attended the Jesuit Retreat House in Oshkosh for over 40 years and inspired many others to attend. Survivors include six children: Connie (Craig) Merrick of Appleton, Thomas (Patti) Sedarski of Stoughton, WI, and Mary Beth Murphy of Appleton, Larry (Mary) Sedarski of Green Lake, James (Kathy) Sedarski of DeForest, and Joseph \u0026quot;Joe\u0026quot; Sedarski of Ripon; 11 grandchildren: Matthew (Kim) Merrick, Melissa (Barry) Marquardt, Michael (John Salm) Merrick, T. J. (Veronica) Sedarski, Molly (Jake) Roder, Kyle Murphy (Paula Lieberg), Karlee Murphy (Kevin Thowless), Zach (Jestina) Sedarski, Virginia Sedarski, Jacob Sedarski, Bryan Sedarski; 20 great-grandchildren Lydia, Brielle, Archer, Warren, Reese, William, Harper, Miles, Mason, Maddox, Mia, Henry, John, Natalie, Isiah, Graydyn, Ruby, Jordan, Jaylynn and Lincoln; sisters: Delores Willis of Pine Mountain, Georgia, and Shirley (Ronald) Drews of Fremont; sister-in-law: Louise Sedarski of Berlin, goddaughter, Janice Palecek, godson, Mark Kasuboski; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin (M. Elizabeth) Palecek, Lincoln (Pearl)Palecek, Edward (Forence) Palacek, Alvin Palacek WWII M. I. A. ; and sisters, Lucille (Carlton) Krueger, Edna Palacek; brothers-in-law, Bernard Sedarski, Norbert (Helen) Sedarski, and John Willis. Family and friends may visit with the family and pay their respects to Betty on Friday September 22, 2023, from 9-11:00 a. m. at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of Berlin. Visitation will be followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a. m. at All Saints Catholic Parish of Berlin with Father Anthony Thirumalareddy officiating. A burial will follow church services at Oakwood Cemetery.
