Dr. Timothy Connelly, 74, of Monticello died on November 21, 2023 at Heartland Senior Living Center, Neoga. Dr. Connelly was born August 7,1949 in Danville to Leo and Dolores Holmes Connelly. He married Bobbi Stump in 1991, and she survives. Other survivors include his three children Chris, Erin, and Patrick, and his two sisters Ellen and Kristin. He was preceded in death by his first wife Marcia D. Roemer and his parents. Dr. Connelly attended the University of Illinois until 1970. He graduated from the University of Illinois Medical Center, Chicago in 1974. He completed his internship at Emory University (Grady Memorial Hospital) Atlanta, Georgia June 1975. He completed his residency at Emory University, General Surgery July 1975-June 1979. His postdoctoral Fellowship in Peripheral Vascular Surgery was from July 1979-June 1980 at Emory University. Dr. Connelly then worked at two Danville, Illinois hospitals until 1987 when he joined Carle Clinic. He worked there until his retirement. Outside of the hospital, he was a true sports fan enthusiast. He was always watching or talking about Fighting Illini Sports or St. Louis Cardinals baseball. A memorial was held Saturday, November 25 by Father John Titus. The arrangements were handled by Swengel - O'Dell Funeral Home, Neoga, IL. Shirley was a retired teacher for the Neoga Community School District #3 in Neoga, Illinois. Teresa was born on February 12, 1929 in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Claire (Lawrence) Cornell. She married Ernest C. Miller on May 7, 1949. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1985. Survivors include her children: Bill (Cindy) Miller of Neoga, IL and Ron (Kaki) Miller of Neoga, IL; grandchildren: Corey (Laura) Miller, Kim (Curtis) Bergfeld, Jennifer (Patrick) Lee, Pale, and Kellee Beccue; great-grandchildren: Hailey, Hunter, Alexis, Cheyanne, Blane, Ava, Sophia, Annabelle, Beatrice, Keera, Keersta, Konalle, Taylor, and London; great-great-grandchildren: Phoenix, Griffin, and Arabelle; son-in-law, Kevin Howard; and brother, Tom Cornell. Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Claire Cornell; husband, Ernest Miller; daughter, Diane Hough; granddaughter, Tammy Jo Howard; and siblings: James, Florence, Herman, George, Dick, Virgil, Loreta, Gert, Maime, Madonna, Bernie, and Verena. Teresa retired from General Electric (G. E. ) after working for 37 years. She also spent 25 years working as a Walmart greeter; she loved visiting with people who came into the store. Teresa was a member of the Eagles and the Women's Guild at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mattoon. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, and word searches. She also liked playing cards, dominos, and bingo. Teresa especially loved her family and enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren's events. She will be greatly missed. VanScyoc on October 8, 1955, and he preceded her on November 12, 2006. Survivors include her son Chester (Kathy) VanScyoc; daughters Deborah (Bruce) Farr, Vola (Roy) Haney, Becky (Stanley) Cowger, and always like a daughter, Lori Stone; 24 grandchildren; 60 great grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, stepmother Vola Ernistine Hodegs, son Ronald VanScyoc, brothers Wallace Eugene Scott and Larry Lawhorn, sister Virginia Thomas, and three great grandchildren. Roger was employed as a Material Handler at Trailmobile in Charleston, Illinois, a Custodian and Bus Driver for the Neoga Community School District in Neoga, Illinois, a Police Officer for the City of Neoga, Illinois, Rentfro Building Supply of Neoga, Illinois, was a accomplished Carpenter and a Little League Coach. Mr. McClain enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and fishing.
