Betty Sue Miller, age 92, a resident of rural Portland, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. Betty was born on April 26, 1930, in Winchester, Indiana, the daughter of Herschel and Eva (Pugh) Harrell. She and her husband farmed in Pike Township for many years and she retired from Westinghouse in Union City in 1987 after 30 years of service. Betty married Paul Leon Miller on March 14, 1978 and he passed away on February 4, 2022. Survivors include: Her children: Gary Jones (wife Gina) - Winchester, Indiana Melody Funk - Lynn, Indiana James Carpenter - Celina, Ohio Tim Carpenter - Union City, Indiana Step-son: Glen Miller - rural Portland, Indiana 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren Visitation will be held on Friday from 1-2 p. m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Services to celebrate Betty's life will follow at 2 p. m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lisbon Cemetery, north of Union City, Indiana.
