Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the cemetery prior to the service. Mrs. Grice, 90, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 at the MUSC Health Marion Medical Center. Born in Conway, SC, November 21, 1933, she was the daughter of the late John Gary Bullard and Willie Mae Bullard. She was a member of Catfish Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include her two daughters, Judy Boatwright and Joyce Lattymer; brothers, John Gary Bullard, Jr. and Lawrence Edward Bullard; grandchildren, Roger Boatwright (Amanda), Cindy Weathers (Bruin) and Amy O'Dell (Bobby); great-grandchildren, Alec & Andrew Boatwright, Joel & Myah Cheek, Matthew, Grace, and Ella Weathers, Sophie & Cody O'Dell. Mrs. Grice was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Grice, Jr.; parents, John and Willie Mae Bullard. Thomas “Tommy” Lee Askins 67, widower of Pamela Jo Askins passed away Friday, February 09, 2024 at McLeod Hospice surrounded by loved ones after an illness.Tommy was born May 02, 1956 in Aiken, SC to the late James “Buck” Wilbur Askins and Eula “Monk” Boatwright Askins. He attended Marion High School. He worked at Raytex, Pilliod and Blumenthal Mills. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, spending time with his two grandsons and family.Tommy is survived by his daughter of the home Cheryl Askins, two grandsons Tanner Askins and Eli Seals. On Sunday, January 28, 2024, Mae Mae, as she is affectionately called, departed this life at MUSC in Marion after a brief illness. She was born to the late Tom and Pearline Merchant Ford, and was also preceded in death by her husband, John Gause; her son, Gregory Ford; a daughter, Pamela Victoria Jenkins; two brothers, Willie and Thomas Ford, Jr. Lillie Mae was educated in the public schools of Dillon County and graduated from Columbus High School in Lake View, SC in 1963. She was an avid basketball player. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She worked at Marvel and Supreme Lighting and retired from SoPackCo in 2011. She served as an usher and missionary for her church for many years. She leaves to cherish her fond memories: her committed daughter, Tanya Raquel Jenkins Taylor of the home; two sisters; Bishop Carolyn Wilson of Mullins, SC; and Ella Ford (Bishop Levester) Williams of Florence, SC; and one brother; Abraham (Ivey) Ford of Ludowici, Georgia; two grandsons: Kennis (Pamela) Taylor and Keonta (Abrea) Taylor of Florence, SC; four great-grandchildren: Kyndai, ZaMarlee, ZaMarr’J, and Klover; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends and a very special friend, Mrs. Mary McNeil.

Obituary Frederica E. Burton, “Freddie” age 81 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on January 13, 2024. She was born on August 2, 1942, to Selina Shaw and Angus Dillon, in Kingston, Jamaica. Freddie later moved to London, England where she married and had four children. Desiring a better life for herself and her children, she journeyed to America in 1973. She became an American Citizen and furthered her education receiving her master’s degree. Freddie worked in the medical field as an MRI technician and was a teacher in this field for many years. Although she was a hard worker, she also loved interior decorating and cruising with her family and friends. She was an AMAZING cook and a lifelong Yankees fan. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sons, Adrian, and Anthony Matthews. Leaving to cherish her memories: son: Andrew (Dionne) Matthews; daughter: Lila Matthews; 4 grandchildren: Capri, Jamaal, Andrew Matthews, Lillian Cooper; 5 great-grandchildren: Andrew Matthews, Jaquan Hines, Tylia Matthews, Aquanti Matthews, and Jaden Cooper, and 1 great- great-granddaughter Jream Matthews.
