Betty Gene Perry Duffey died peacefully October 5th in Dawsonville, Georgia leaving behind her son, William H. Duffey (Terese), four grandchildren: Colleen Marie Duffey Head, Billy Houston Duffey (Jessica) James Richard Duffey (Anastasia), Stephanie Allyce Duffey Chimienti (Eric), five great grandchildren: Logan Anne Marie Head, Dakota Autumn Head, Scarlett Mae Duffey, Mary Grace Chimienti and Sebastian James Duffey. She is predeceased by her husband Billy Houston Duffey in 1960. Betty began a teaching career in 1949 at Davy Junior High School in West Virginia until 1950. After marriage, Betty taught in Georgia, Alabama, and Kentucky. In 1964, four years after the sudden death of her husband in Kentucky, Betty moved to Delray Beach, Florida with her son where she taught at Plumosa Elementary School in Delray Beach and later became Principal of Plumosa from 1972 to 1984. In 1984 Betty became Principal at the new Whispering Pines Elementary School in Boca Raton, Florida until 1988. In 1988 Betty opened the new Sandpiper Shores Elementary School in Boca Raton as Principal and remained there until her retirement in 1994. In 2012, Betty moved to Dawsonville, Georgia to reside with her son and daughter in law. She will be greatly missed by her loving family as she was an inspiration to all. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 9, 2023 at 12 noon at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. David Sanders will officiate. Interment services will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 1 o'clock at Carroll Memory Gardens in Carrollton, GA. The family will receive friends Monday from 11 a. m. until the funeral hour. Theo Crane, 88, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday December 3, 2023 at his residence following a period of declining health. Born January 12, 1935 to the late Carrol and Dude Crane, Theo had been a resident of Dawsonville for the past 18 years. Born and raised in Dahlonega, Theo and Ellen married in 1955 and moved to Atlanta in 1956 where they spent over 40 years. Theo was a skilled truck driver and never had an accident his entire career working for ABF Freight and East Texas Motor Freight until his retirement in 1991. In 2005 Theo and Ellen moved back to Dawsonville where he loved to fish in the pond beside his house and grow a vegetable garden. A loving husband and father, Theo would always have a story or joke to tell with a smile and a laugh. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Ellen Crane of Dawsonville; Daughter, Elizabeth Crane of Dawsonville; brother and sisters-in-law, David and Samantha Crane, Vera Mae Crane, Bertha Mace, all of Dahlonega; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Renee and Mike Webb, Diane Houston, all of Douglasville; aunt, Dorothy Singleton of Dawsonville; nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Jason Rogers; brothers, Charles Crane, Clifton Crane; brothers-in-law, Don Houston, Melvin Chester; sister-in-law, Sue Chester. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 1 p. m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Rodney Pilcher and Rev. Gary Moore will officiate. Interment will follow in the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 5 from 4 p. m. until 8 p. m. and on Wednesday, December 6 from 11 a. m. until the service hour. Cameron Anthony Fausti, 56, of Cumming went into the arms of Jesus Friday, November 24th, 2023 at his residence. Cameron was born August 19th, 1967 in Charleston, South Carolina, to the late Gary Fausti & surviving Sandi Fausti. Cameron married the love of his life Lynda Carole Ferebee and was blessed with 4 wonderful children, Christopher Cameron Fausti, Jonathan Cameron Fausti, Lily Lynn Fausti and Timothy Cameron Fausti. Cameron was a devoted husband, father & grandfather to 7 wonderful grandchildren. Great memories will be passed down and remembered by all who knew him. Cameron was saved on October, 1992, at Oconee Heights Baptist Church, in Athens, GA. He was employed by the FDIC and served 33 years with the organization. Cameron enjoyed watching everyone grow up, and taking Sunday morning drives with his wife through the backroads of North Georgia. He loved spending time in nature, reading his Bible and growing in his walk with the Lord. He enjoyed working around the house and going down the Etowah River with his family. Cameron is survived by his wife Lynn Fausti; Sons; Christopher Fausti and Wife Tiffany Fausti, Jonathan Fausti and Wife Helena Fausti, Timothy Fausti and his Wife Jasmine Fausti; Daughter, Lily Fausti and Significant Other Kansas Mullins; Mother, Sandra Fausti; Brother, Brandon Fausti; Sister; Heather Gerard and Husband Andy Gerard; Grandchildren, Cooper Henry, Alyx Fausti, Vince Fausti, Nico Fausti, Asher Mullins, Luke Fausti, and Chief Fausti; And his beloved dog and faithful companion, Aspen Fausti. Frank Lewis Bruce, 94, of Dawsonville passed away Monday, November 20, 2023. Mr. Bruce was born November 8, 1929 to the late Frank and Mary Bruce. A native of Dawson County, he lived in the Atlanta area for over 50 years. Mr. Bruce retired from the Georgia Department of Education following 38 years of service. A U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was also a lifetime member of the N. R. A. and several knife collecting clubs. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Casey Correll; brothers, Hugh Bruce, Charles Cicero Bruce, Mark Bruce; sisters, Maggie Thomas, Mary Elizabeth Martin and Sarah Dobbs. Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Ruth Bruce; daughter and son in law, Theresa and Leslie Stanton, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Bart and Ashley Correll, Katie and Jesse McLaughlin, Emily and Brian Brix, Jacob Stanton; 7 great grandchildren; sister and brother in law, Lavada and Jack Parker, Apopka, FL, brother and sister in law, Roy and Joanne Bruce, Douglasville; and a number of other relatives. Lona Mae Zambruno, 83, was born May 16, 1940 in Millbury, Massachusetts and sadly passed away on November 18, 2023 in Dawsonville, Georgia at her home surrounded by her loved ones. A homemaker at her death, she formerly worked as a pharmacy technician and was a shipping and receiving manager for Linens and Things. Lona was married to Frederick J. "Chick" Zambruno for 36 years and remained devoted to him even after his passing on September of 1994. She joined her other eternal family including her daughter, Judi-Ann Harvey; son in law, Scott Harvey; parents, Lionel and Genevieve St. Germain; Frederick's parents, Ralph and Johanna Hood; brothers, Bob St. Germain, Lee St. Germain. Lona was an ambitious and determined person. She was extremely talented and devoted her time to woodworking and crafts. She was dedicated to family support, and mentoring life lessons to those of us who needed it in troubled times. Her footprints of life are etched in our souls forever. We will carry her strength and determination always. She requested all of us to "Stay Strong". Surviving are her daughter, Lonna Jo Copeland and husband Randy Copeland; granddaughter, Monica Harvey; grandson, Joseph Harvey, sisters, Deborah Taylor, Diane Stephens; brother in law, Kevin Hood; sister in law, Judith Capitolo.
