Betty Gail Cline, 72 of Laurel, MS passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023, at her residence in Laurel, MS. She was born Saturday, March 3, 1951, in Gas City, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2023, from 5:00PM until 8:00pm at Ellisville Funeral Home in 1204 B Ave, Ellisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023, at 2:00PM at Ellisville Funeral Home in Ellisville, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Lake Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery in Laurel, MS. Bro. Brent Gilbert will officiate. She was a dedicated worker for Mississippi Power for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Butler; mother, Julia Logan Croddy; sisters, Phyllis Aidt and Donna Welch. Survivors include her brothers, Fred Butler (Jill) and Jack Butler (Ruth); niece, Jennifer Johnson (Andy); great-niece, Lindsey Johnson, great-nephew, Travis Johnson; nieces, Julianne Poole and Amber Johnson and a host of other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He retired from SRT in Laurel, MS. Billy loved his family and was married to his wife, Kaye, for sixty years. He was extremely proud and thankful for his precious grandchildren. His favorite hobbies were riding his Harley Davidson with close friends and cheering on his beloved baseball team, the Philadelphia Phillies. "Sharon Kay Bush, 67, of Laurel, MS went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 30, 2023. She was born on November 27, 1956 to Simeon F. Redd and Evelyn Pylate Redd of Laurel. Sharon graduated from RH Watkins High School in 1974 and continued her education at the Business School of Jones County Junior College. She worked as a legal secretary for the law firm of Maxie, Clark \u0026amp; Casey and as an administrative assistant for Masonite Corporation and the City of Laurel. Sharon possessed a sweet spirit and loved her family and friends with all her heart. She enjoyed the wonders of nature experiencing simple pleasures like viewing sunsets and standing under a waterfall. She adored her pets and was kind to all. Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Simeon F. Redd. She is survived by her mother, Evelyn Pylate Redd; sister, Lorraine Redd; brother, Stuart Redd (Kelly); her husband of 48 years, Jamie Bush; daughters, Lauren Nicole Bush and Amanda Kathryn Bush (Eric); grandchildren, Jaiden Mertens (Leiah), Molly Mertens, Kye Thompkins, Evie Huckabee; great grandson, Julian Mertens and many nieces and nephews. "George Day, 79, passed away November 27, 2023, at South Mississippi Regional Medical Center. George was born on June 29, 1944 to George and Virginia Day in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After graduating from Baker High School, he attended LSU. At the end of his freshman year, he joined the Air Force. While serving in the Air Force, George met and later married Mayze Mackrell. The couple had one child, a son, George Brandon Day. George graduated from USM and until the time of his retirement in 2008, he worked for Dixie Electric Power Association. "Dorothy Jean Till Lesniak was born December 13, 1926 to Woods P. and Viola Blackledge Till. Dot passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Comfort Care Nursing Center. She is a graduate of Gardner High School in Laurel. Dorothy served in the Cadet Nurse Corps before attending Gilfoy School of Nursing at Baptist Hospital in Jackson. Once she completed her RN, Dot attended Indiana University where she attained her BS Degree in Education. Returning to Mississippi, she taught nursing at South Mississippi Charity Hospital serving as Director of the program there. After leaving Charity she became Director of Nursing for Masonite Clinic and Hospital until retiring in the late 1960s. As a devoted member of the nursing profession, she was a member and Past President of The Mississippi Nursing Association. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank G. Lesniak and brother Woods Preston Till, Jr. She is survived by numerous extended family members. As a lifelong member of First Church of God of Laurel she served many years on the Church Council in various positions faithfully serving her church and its members until her health declined. Mrs. Lesniak will be laid to rest in Hickory Grove Cemetery following a graveside service on November 30, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Pastor Paul Matte of the Moss Church of God will officiate.
