Betty Jo Cannon, 84, of El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2023, in New Braunfels. She was born on August 11, 1939, in El Paso, Texas to Tom and Mabel (Fitzpatrick) Love. She spent most of her life in the surrounding area. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and friend, and her family meant everything to her. She is preceded in death by her beloved spouse and high school sweetheart of 54 years, Donald Cannon. Betty was a true lady, filled with love, compassion, grace and kindness for all those she encountered. After retiring from her longtime position as bookkeeper for Lauterbach, Borschow & Co. , PC, she turned to her garden retreat. Her Upper Valley English Garden was lovingly created and designed from scratch and maintained by herself for many years. Her parties and cooking were legend and will be missed. She is survived by her only daughter Stephanie Cannon of New Braunfels, Texas. Sister Margie (Glenn) Pohl of Laguna Hills, CA, brother Gene (Cheri) Love of Las Cruces, NM, and brother Tom (Laura) Love of Ashton, ID, and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was a long-time member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in El Paso where she was a church greeter, always ready with a smile to welcome new and existing parishioners. A Celebration of Life in Christ will be held on November 4, 2023, in New Braunfels and on November 11, 2023, in El Paso, TX.
