Betty Jane Agotta was born on October 15, 1946, and passed away peacefully at Highland Hospital on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Betty was preceded in death by her parents. Betty and her mother, Elizabeth Fuller Agotta, were lifelong members of Kings Highway Christian Church. Betty had many talents and passions. She was an avid needle pointer, and she generously gave many finished canvasses to family and friends. She was passionate about genealogy and while it took many years and lots of road trips, she traced her family back to the Magna Carter Dames and the War of 1812. Through these connections she was a member of the Colonial Dames, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Confederacy and Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She is survived by her sister, Helen Crichton (Tom) of Dallas, TX; nieces, Malissa Crichton Soong (Tony) of McLean, VA, and Sarah Crichton Kardys (Chris) of San Antonio, TX; nephew, Thomas Andrew 'Drew' Crichton (Chrissi) of Dallas, TX; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews, Jack, Ava, Grace, Ryan, Claire, Adam and Abigail. The family wishes to express appreciation for her wonderful caregiver, Shawanda, nurses, Rachel, Earl, Claire and Stormy, the special staff at Azalea Estates, Lorrie, Tori, Mary, Theresa and Lorraine, and sweet friend, DeDe. Also, a heartfelt thank you to the Highland Hospital ICU staff and the Hospice staff. A private burial will be held at the family cemetery in Gainesville, Texas.
