The daughter of Floyd and Zada (Dillard) Cooper, Betty was born April 12, 1933, in Violet Hill Arkansas. Betty was born in the Arkansas Hills where she loved her family, the people, and the area. Betty graduated from Violet Hill High School in 1951. After graduating, Betty moved to Senath Missouri where she met, dated, and married Paul E. Adams, in Kennett, MO, they married on May 2, 1952. They spent over 64 years together raising nine children and building a loving active family. Betty was very active in her church and enjoyed helping people. Betty was a faithful member of Bumpkin Baptist Church (E. St. Louis) and Faith Baptist Church (Freeburg) for many years. She served as a Sunday school teacher and participated/coached church softball and volleyball teams. Betty was a homemaker, she provided a loving and supporting home environment that supported her children, her family, and friends. She provided a listening ear to family and friends that gave comfort and support. In addition, she was a second mother to the kids her children brought home. Mom was always feeding extra kids that stayed at the house. She enjoyed playing card games, dominos, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Adams, who passed away on November 1, 2016; her parents, William Floyd and Zada, nee Dillard, Cooper; a granddaughter, Jennifer Lyn Adams; her sister, Patsy Harmon; and a brother-in-law, John Harmon. She is survived by her children, seven sons, Mark (Debbie) Adams, Boyce (Sharon) Adams, Bruce (Mary Ann) Adams, Brent (Jackie) Adams, Clark Adams, Scott (Donna) Adams, and Jason (Stacy) Adams; two daughters, Paula (Tom) Steiner, and Amy (Wayne) Guetterman; 23 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lonnie (Alice) Cooper; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions in Betty's memory may be made towards Faith Baptist Church, Freeburg, IL. or to Family Hospice of Belleville. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at . Friends may visit from 10 a. m. to 11 a. m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Faith Baptist Church, Freeburg, IL. Memorial Services will be at 11 a. m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Faith Baptist Church, Freeburg, IL. Burial will be held at a later date.
