Jasmine "Jazzy" Martell Bowman, passed away to her heavenly home on November 25, 2023, at her home. She was born on April 7, 1985, to Lloyd Derrick Bowman and Cathy Ann Penn in Tyler, Texas. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clyde Bowman Sr. and Bettye Jo Newsome Bowman, Dudley Frank Lykins and Nora Mae Lykins and Granny Caroline Sue Eubanks; uncles, Steven Wade Bowman, and Keven Eubanks; aunt, Teresa Maureen Garrison. Jazzy lived a life in which she emanated joy and light to everyone who encountered her. Jazzy always found the best in people and tried to understand them where they were at. She was not judgmental, and she always found a way to use what she learned in life to teach others. Jazzy loved, beyond measure, her two girls, Jayla and Jordyn, and they were always a forethought in all of her decision making. Growing up Jazzy was very close to her mom, Cathy, and older sister, Jaren. She participated in competitive swimming and cheerleading. She loved little kids and even became babysitter and CPR certified in her early teen years. Jasmine obtained her bachelor's degree in 2019 from University of Arizona, Global Campus. She applied that degree to her most recent position with the US Army Corp of Engineers where she worked hard starting as a GS-4 Human Resources Assistant and ended with a most recent promotion to GS-12 Human Resource Specialist. Jazzy is the namesake to her oldest niece, Jisela Martel. For anyone lucky enough to have met Jazzy, they know that she always brought with her a shining smile and contagious laugh. She was also quite humorous. Her previous boss tells a story of slurping the last of her soup on a zoom call and Jazzy forgot her camera was on. While Jazzy's life was full of ups and downs she never let that deter her from getting right with God or going after her goals. We will remember Jazzy when we are laughing until we can't breathe, when we are looking into a sunset, or doing what her nose wouldn't allow her to do here on earth, smell the flowers. When you might be facing difficulties ask yourself what Jazzy might do and she would say, slow down take some breathes and when people are difficult, stop and meet them where they are at. Jazzy, we will miss you forever and love you for always. Until we rise together. . . Survivors include her daughters, Jayla Lashunda Bowman and Jordyn Kendall Will; Mother, Cathy Ann Penn; Father, Lloyd Derrick Bowman(Gail); Sisters, Jaren Bowman, Ashely Michelle Ashton (Dave); Brothers, John Kelly Griffes, Micheal Darby II (Amanda); Dear friends, Jay K. Will and Jeff and Kelly Will; An abundance of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins also survive, along with a host of friends who loved Jazzy. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Restoration Church in Eustace under the direction of Autry's Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.Show more
