Joey Miller 67, of Lincoln NE, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2024. He was born to Eugene and Bernice (Jones) Bauer on November 27, 1956. Joey grew up in Lincoln, NE. When he was younger he enjoyed being with family at the lake, camping and water skiing during the summer. Family gatherings were always special to him. Joey drove for Ready Mixed Concrete and T.O. Haas for many years, then went on to drive a city bus for StarTran. After meeting his beloved Jenni, he moved to Fordland, MO. Together, they enjoyed the outdoors and lending a hand to friends and neighbors. When Joey returned to Lincoln he looked forward to spending time with his sister Jeannie – going to lunch or getting a coffee at Scooters. He is survived by his son Daniel (Luz) Miller, Crete, NE.; his granddaughter Kayleigh Miller; grandson Caleb Marsh; His sisters Jeannie (Mark) Darrington, Shannon (Larry) Vlasnik and Sharon Smice all of Lincoln. Vicki Parrish, Union, MO. Sandra Novotny, Henderson, NV; brother Troy Bauer, Lincoln, NE; Nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Tina Henderson and Victoria Karczewsk; His brothers Willard “Willie” Miller and Michael “Mike” Bauer; His brothers in-law Gary Henderson, Allen Parrish, William Novotny, James Smice and David Strange; Niece Nicole Winistoefer; and his partner of 25 years, Jenni Miller. Paulwas born December 29, 1936, in Randolph, Nebraska, to Alfred and Ruby (Schneider) Koplin.Graduating from Wayne High School in 1954, he proudly served in the United States Navy from1955 to 1957 aboard the U.S.S. Frank E. Evans Destroyer DD754. On May 31, 1959, Paulmarried the love of his life, Gloria Pfeil, at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne, NE. They wereblessed with one daughter, Paula. They owned and operated Koplin Auto Supply and SmallEngine Sales/Service for 42 years. After retirement in 2003, they moved to Lincoln. Paulcherished his family and enjoyed Nebraska Athletics, hunting, fishing, and woodcarving.Survivors include daughter Paula (Jack) Williams and grandsons, Josh and Joel Williams, ofLIncoln; sister Yvonne Darrow of LaPine, Oregon; sister-in-law MaryBelle Pfeil of Elkhorn; nieceTracy (Tom) Thompson of Gretna; nephew Rex (Kris) Pfeil of Blair; cousin Patricia Podoll ofFredericksburg, Texas.Preceded in death by his beloved wife Gloria in 2016, parents, one sister Wanda, brothers-in-law RenoPfeil, Tom Darrow, and niece Robyn Lockwood.Per Paul’s wishes, he was cremated, and a private burial with military rites at GreenwoodCemetery in Wayne will be held at a later date. Sandra Eickhoff Obituary Sandra Eickhoff, 71, of Falls City, NE, passed away March 1, 2024 at Lincoln, NE. She was born January 9, 1953 at Clay Center, KS to Walter and Leona (Moormann) Damman. She married Harvey Eickhoff on August 3, 1980 at Clay Center, KS. Sandra was raised in rural Clifton, KS and graduated Clifton High School in 1971. Following graduation, she attended Emporia State College and graduated with a teaching degree in home economics. She then taught school in Sabetha, KS until 1982 at which time she became a homemaker and farm wife, doing the bookkeeping for the farm. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, six miles north of Falls City, LWML and the Altar Guild. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, her grandchildren and volunteering for the Orphan Grain Train. Sandra is survived by her husband, Harvey of Falls City, children, Ryan and his wife Tamara of Kansas City, MO, Jaime Kersten and her husband Brian of Seattle, WA, Jared and his wife Ashley of Falls City, grandchildren, Emma, Lily, Nate, Marc and Keaton. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Mark and Steven Damman Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6 miles north of Falls City, with Reverend Ken Humprey officiating.
