October 6, 2023
Jupiter, FL
"Bernard D. (Bernie) Larose, 83, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL passed away peacefully on September 16, 2023, at Trustbridge Hospice of Jupiter, surrounded by his loving family. Bernie was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, to Daniel A. and Lauretta (Labossiere) Larose, where he grew up with his sister, Gloria. He was determined from a young age and that determination would drive him to put himself through college, working days at the A & P and going to school, at night. In 1959, he met the love of his life, Mary Ann. In 1961, the two would marry and after six long years of working and going to school, with Mary Ann also working to support them, Bernie graduated from Western New England University, in Springfield, Massachusetts. He became an accomplished CPA and, following graduation, worked for Coopers and Lybrand, in Springfield, for many years. He, later, left Public Accounting for a position as a Comptroller for Adams Super Markets, an independently owned chain of Super Markets, in Adams, MA. When he left Adams Super Markets, he and his family relocated from Williamstown, MA, in the Northern Berkshires, back to Connecticut, settling in Suffield, CT. At that time, he went to work as Treasurer, for Allied Grocers, in Windsor, CT. Bernie would leave Allied Grocers to open his own business, Larose Associates, consulting for a New York City business. Through much hard work and perseverance, Bernie achieved great professional success and through his unwavering love and commitment to his family, he realized great personal fulfillment. But without mentioning Bernie's passion for the stock market, we would be leaving out a big part of who he was and what brought him pleasure! Bernard was predeceased by his sister, Gloria C. Larose Valenti, of Idaho Falls, ID, in November of 2022. He leaves behind his cherished wife of 62 years, Mary Ann C. Lewis Larose; his three beloved daughters, Ann Mary C. Fisher (Robert) of North Haven, CT; Melissa H. Sampson (Robert) of Jupiter, FL; Maura L. Klesczewski (Robert) of Suffield, CT; his two grandsons, Dylan J. VanBramer (Stephanie) of North Haven, CT and Kyle A. VanBramer of North Haven, CT; his three granddaughters, Lauren E. Klesczewski of Suffield, CT; Eiren L. Klesczewski of Suffield, CT; Christiana C. Sampson of Jupiter, FL; his sister-in-law, Joan D. Lengyel (Lewis) of San Diego, CA; his brother-in-law, Alexander H. G. Lewis, III (Deborah) of Grass Valley, CA; his brother-in-law, Louis N. Valenti of Idaho Falls, ID and many nieces and nephews. The Larose and Lewis families will be eternally grateful to the women who cared for Bernie at home with humor, kindness and devotion, to the wonderful care he received at Jupiter Medical Center and to the nurses and staff at Trustbridge Hospice of the Palm Beaches for their warmth and kindness for Bernie and support for him and our family. You will never be forgotten- God Bless You All. . . Bernie was a loving husband and a father who was devoted to his family. He will be deeply missed by his family and those that knew and loved him. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 7th, from 10:00am-12:15pm, at Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, in Jupiter, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Jude Catholic Church, at 1:00pm, in Tequesta, FL. A Reception will be held immediately following the Funeral Mass, at North Palm Beach Country Club, at the Farmer's Table Banquet Hall, from 3:00pm-6:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation, in loving memory of Bernie, to an Alzheimer's or Dementia Foundation or another foundation of your choice. "
