Benjamin F. Pratt Jr. , 84, of Fostoria, Ohio passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria, Ohio. He was born August 14, 1939 in Fostoria, Ohio to Benjamin F. & Virginia (Valenti) Pratt Sr. Ben 1st married Carolyn S. Weber in 1958 & they later divorced. He married Helen "Sam" Raney on June 7, 1980 in Fostoria. She passed September 11, 2020. He is survived by daughter Lori Cole of New Riegel, son Benjamin Pratt III of Findlay, stepsons Jeff Kunkelman of Findlay, Chris (Nicole) Kunkelman of Delphos, Scott (Tina) Kunkelman of TN, Eric (Stacey) Kunkelman of Northwood, grandchildren Jeremy (Jessica) Pratt of Bluffton, Tiffany (Hugo) Pratt, Danielle (Mike Hunter) Lunn both of Fostoria, Lucas Cooper of New Riegel, great grandchildren Angelina Brandon, Kaylee Goeller, Emma Lunn, Noah, Ruby, Ellis & Brooklyn Pratt. Ben is preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Lisa Marie Pratt, brother Rulon Pratt, grandchildren Jason & Elizabeth. Ben worked as a Machinist & Tool & Die for the Union Carbide & was a gunsmith. He was a 1957 graduate of Fostoria High School & member of the High Street United Methodist Church. Ben was also a member of the N. R. A. , Sandusky County Gun Club, Fostoria Eagles & Sportsmen Club. He enjoyed gunsmithing, shooting, boating, hunting fishing & hog roasts. Ben also loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, & great grandchildren. There will be no services at this time. Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, Ohio is handling local arrangements. Memorials can be made to the Seneca County School of Opportunity.

Phyllis Jean Hulderman, 90, of Fostoria, Ohio was welcomed into the gates of heaven on October 27, 2023. She was born May 8,1933 in Seneca County to Frank and Agnes (Weinandy) Burns who preceded her in death along with her sisters Mary Cool, Eileen Lucius, Betty Moes, Marjorie Brentlinger, Theresa Karns, brother Robert Burns and granddaughter Sarah Davis. She married her husband of 70 years, Herman Joseph "Joe" Hulderman, on June 26, 1954 and he survives her along with son Joseph (Gale) Hulderman, Toledo; three daughters, Linda (Michael) Evans, Lima; Mary Hulderman, Fairview Park; Ann (Michael) Stahl, Fostoria; brother James (Carol) Burns, Fostoria; sister Donna Altwies, Findlay; fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Phyllis graduated from Hopewell-Loudon High School and worked as the office manager for the Standard Fusee in Fostoria for 17 years. In January of 1983 she founded The Sharing Kitchen of Fostoria and served as the Director of the non-profit for 40 years. Over the years she received numerous awards and accolades for her volunteerism and community efforts. For decades Phyllis was an active volunteer and participant in the community and St. Wendelin organizations. She served as the President of St. Wendelin Parish Council, member of the Rosary Altar Society, Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Daughters of Isabella, the new church building committee, and served as a Minister of the Eucharist for St. Wendelin visiting the sick and shut-ins with communion, for over 20 years. Within the community Phyllis served as a member of the Fostoria City Council, and Board member of Fostoria Labor Management and Bureau of Concern. Visitation will be on Wednesday November 1, 2023 from 2 - 4 and 5 - 7 p. m. at Hoening & Son Funeral Home, 133 W. Tiffin St. , Fostoria, OH, where a Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p. m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a. m. Thursday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, 323 N. Wood St. , Fostoria, OH. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Cemetery. A luncheon will then take place in the parish hall. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Sharing Kitchen of Fostoria or contribution toward a memorial mass for Phyllis at St. Wendelin Catholic Church. David W. Kieffer, 70 of Fostoria, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at The James Cancer Center Hospital at the Ohio State University. He was born August 4, 1953 in Findlay, Ohio to Alva and Iva P. (Kreais) Kieffer. David, or "Dave" graduated from Elmwood High School in 1972 and went on to serve the Fostoria Kroger as a loyal employee and head of the frozen food department for 46 years. He grew up as a member of the St. Wendelin Catholic Church, and was a kind, caring friend to so many. Dave found his true happiness in his outdoor adventures, and would talk about hunting and fishing with anyone that would engage in conversation. From Sugar Island, Canada and Florida for fishing, to Utah for elk hunting to Arkansas for duck hunting to Pennsylvania and Ohio's timbered woodland for whitetail and squirrels, Dave loved the outdoors. He was proud to carry on the tradition of hunting and fishing and enjoyed being a member of several different non-profit organizations: Lions Club of Risingsun, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Carey Conservation & Sportsman Association, and Fostoria United Sportsmen. He also enjoyed shooting pool leagues locally, and fishing on Lake Erie, with his best friend, Gary, anytime there was good weather. Surviving are his brother, William "Bill" Kieffer, of Fostoria; and a niece, Tonya(Jacob) Selby, of Vernal, Utah, and many of his lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 10:30 a. m. at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, Ohio. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 3-5 and 7-9 p. m. at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, Ohio with a wake service to begin at 4:45 p. m.
