40, of Union Springs passed away unexpectedly, Monday, October 2, 2023 Born in Auburn October 15, 1982, he is the son of Douglas Gilfus and the late Donna Ford Gilfus Ben was a graduate of Union Springs Central School, Class of 2000, and continued his education at SUNY Morrisville, Paul Smith's College and SUNY ESF He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, tending to his garden and growing his own produce A truly genuine person, Ben would do anything for anyone He really cared about people, but above all, he loved his two children unconditionally He is survived by his father Douglas; his two young children, daughter Skylar and son Wyatt, and their mother, Winter Ingleston; one brother Scott Gilfus (Kristen); sister Danielle Gilfus (Jose Reyes); a niece Jayla Reyes; and several aunts, uncles and cousins In addition to his mother Donna, Ben is predeceased by both his paternal and maternal grandparents Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family Arrangements are with White Chapel Funeral Home Inc , 197 South Street, Auburn Contributions may be made in memory of Ben to Unity House, Attn: Dorothy Radcliff - Program Manager, 58 Osborne Street, Auburn, NY 13021 The Gilfus family would also ask that you please consider planting a tree or garden in Ben's memory

The world lost a beloved woman, Dagmar Tanner of Auburn, NY, on November 17, 2023, after a brief illness. Dagmar was born on February 19, 1951, and was raised in Pearl River, NY. She is survived by her loyal dog, Gunner, her loving grandchildren, Tommy, Alyssa, Dana, Addison, Cameron and Tanner, her children, Jessica (Tony) DiBartolo, Cheryl (Tom) Armstrong, and Susan (David) Dorzbacher, her loving husband of 53 years, Peter, her sister Maggie Schou (Gail McKinley) and her brother Thomas (Sue) Schou and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard McIlwee, and both her parents, Svend and Margaret Schou. Dagmar's life was one lived giving to others and doing service of some kind. She was a committed 'mom' to many Rainbow Girls over the years. Her friends knew her as a kind soul, a loving dog mom, the giver of the best hugs, a personality that was spunky and vibrant, an empathetic listener, and always ready for an adventure. Dagmar loved working on blankets and quilts to give away, she called them hug blankets because they were made with love. The immediate family will have a private opportunity to say goodbye per Dagmar's wishes. All those who loved her will be invited to a celebration of her life which will be held at a later time. Richard L. "Dick" Treat, 83, Auburn NY, passed away November 17, 2023 after a brief illness. Son of Laverne and Doris (Burnett) Treat. A lifelong resident of the Auburn area, Dick attended Union Springs School. He was a union bricklayer, well known for his mastery with brick and masonry skills. In his younger days Dick was an accomplished stock car driver racing at many local tracks and he followed NASCAR. Dick had a passion for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and trap shooter. His favorite was walleye fishing. He also chartered many trips over the years on Lake Ontario with his boat the "Trout Hound. " The walls of his house were filled with mounts of his hunting skills. Turkey-Deer-Ducks filled the walls. He was also a trap shooter where he acquired many awards. Dick is survived by his loving companion Patty Logan. They enjoyed many years together shooting trap and hunting; his children Cindi Doyle, Don (Sharon), Dan (Carla) and Barb (Greg) Eastman; his sister and brother in law Lynn and Don "Butch" Blaisdell and their three daughters and their families. Dick also left behind 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and Patty's son Jon Fiume and his son Julian. Dick was predeceased by his parents, wife Pauline (Peg), daughter Alice, son in laws Bill Doyle, Alan Teneyck, Dan Deyo and two grandsons. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the Family. A Celebration of Life will be held April 27, 2024 from 2-6pm at the Throop Fire Hall, 7159 Beech Tree Rd. , Auburn NY 13021. Cathy Elaine (Mayberry) Uebelman, age 65, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday November 15th, 2023, at her home in Waterloo NY. Born in Lockport NY as the daughter of the late Robert and Helen (Farrow) Mayberry and sister to many siblings, she has been a resident of the finger lakes and Cayuga County area for most of her life. Cathy previously worked at TRW and spent several years as a waitress at a few different local establishments. Cathy had fire in her heart and soul and touched the lives of all she connected with. Her spunky spit-fire personality made her a one-of-a-kind woman. There's so many wonderful things to say about Cathy. She loved animals and had a green thumb loving any and all plants (bringing them back to life from wilting made her heart happy. She would smile ear when they bloomed). One of her absolute favorite past times was being in the kitchen cooking meals and tasty treats (banana bread being one of her specialties) for those she loved, family and friends. Years later she became the keeper of old family recipes and enjoyed teaching Helen's cooking secrets. She enjoyed and cherished the quality time she spent with everyone. She is survived by her two sons: William (Brandi) Murray and Kenneth Murray. Grandchildren Brittany Murray, Rebecka (Austin) Delpapa, Tyler Murray, Douglas Murray, Dominic Murray, Kaydence Murray and Caydon Norcott. Great-grandchildren Wyatt Murray ,Hayliegh Widger, and Rosalie DelPapa , her beloved canine companion JoJo along with her siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Cathy was predeceased by a few of her siblings and her grandson Zander Murray. Calling hours will be held on the morning of Tuesday November 21st, 2023, at Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee Street Auburn NY 13021 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm with a brief service to immediately follow. Burial will follow services in Venice Center Cemetery. Flowers can be sent to Pettigrass Funeral Home in honor of Cathy.
