Scott Roberts

Age - 71

December 1, 2023

Livermore Falls, Maine: Following his audition, which consisted of a multiyear bout with Lung Cancer, Scott Roberts joined the Choir Invisible on November 27, 2023. He is survived by his wife, and treasure, Diane and her son Matthew, his sisters Bonnie Roberts Sabo and spouse Rick of Bangor, Penelope Roberts and her son Adriano of Sierra Vista, Arizona and his brother Stewart Roberts II, wife Kris and son Stewart D Roberts Ill of Roseville, Minnesota. For years he maintained the narrative that he was adopted, but his immediate relatives claim he was actually born to Elizabeth H and Stewart D Roberts Sr. by emergency lighting (candles) on the night of December 16, 1951 in Des Moines. They say he was not, as he would repeatedly say, raised in an orphanage, but rather following a few years in Iowa, the family moved to the Chicago suburb of Oak Park. No harsh nuns or bowls of gruel as he so steadfastly claimed, but rather the parks, yards, sidewalks, etc. of suburban America where youth baseball, boy scouts and all sorts other pursuits were available. He was educated in Oak Park schools and following high school he attended Lake Forest College before eventually graduating with a BA in Political Science from Roosevelt University in Chicago. In 1977 he decided to pursue a more bucolic life and loaded all his worldly possessions in a 1964 Ford 3/4 ton pickup and a small U-Haul trailer and set off for Maine. It was a decision he never regretted in spite of having to leave his beloved Pale Hose behind! He lived and worked in numerous places across Maine but finally was truly home when the Riordan farm in East Livermore became his residence in 1989. Perhaps one of his proudest moments was when the eldest living Riordan at the time, pronounced him a "Riordan by Residence". No longer a "tourist", this title came with a standing invitation to all Riordan reunions, funerals and other events! He worked at AC Electric in Auburn with some of the finest fellow employees, vendors and customers Maine has, closed out his career there and entered retirement in the spring of 2017. He occupied himself with a variety of activities beginning with being a trained Master Gardener Volunteer with the University of Maine's Cooperative Extension. This work ran the gamut from supporting other gardeners and gardens to working with RCAM (Leeds) to build and supply raised beds to local residents. The mainstay of the MCV work, however, was gleaning which untit health failed him, he did passionately. The most fun he had in retirement was his gig as an in-car driving instructor for high school. His claim was that he was able to teach the students NOT to do the things that other drivers do that drove him crazy! The Jury is still out on how successful he was. In following Scott's wishes there will be no services and burial will be private. You may offer your condolences and memories of Scott at www. thefortingrouplewiston. comShow more

AUBURN---It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Trevor Saunders on Saturday November 18, 2023. Anthony Ayotte

Anthony Ayotte

Age - 40

November 8, 2023

Anthony (Tony) Armand Ayotte, 40, of Lewiston, Maine was tragically taken from this earth far too soon on Saturday November 4, 2023. Tony was born on September 4, 1983 to Tim and Brenda Ayotte in Lewiston, Maine. He attended Lewiston schools and moved on to work in the construction and flooring field. He worked at his brother's flooring business for many years, spending countless hours together doing the work they loved. Tony was full of life and loved his family. He never missed a holiday gathering, lobster feed or birthday dinner. While he often "sat back" and took it all in he always had a way of being a steady presence and making sure to check in and say hello to everyone. Then, his life changed dramatically in July of 2019 when his son Preston was born. From that moment on we had the pleasure of watching Tony become a dad. Nothing had ever brought Tony so much joy as being a dad, and he became the best version of himself any of us had seen. He raised a miniature version of himself; a fun-loving, goofy, sweet, easy-going little man. Tony is survived by his son Preston; his parents Tim and Brenda Martin Ayotte of Lewiston; his brother Jon and his wife Allison and their two children Easton and Aubree of Minot; his sister Samantha and her daughter Willow of Lewiston. He also leaves his maternal grandmother, Annette Martin-Cote of Lewiston and his paternal grandmother, Georgette Ayotte also of Lewiston. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends who were like family to him, including Joseph "Chad" Ruest and Paul Harnden. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, John Ayotte, and maternal grandfather, Burley Martin. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Albert & Burpee Funeral Home on Sunday, November 12, 2023, from 11 AM to 2 PM. Private interment services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to a trust fund for his son. Checks may be made out to Preston Ayotte at Maine family FCU, or mailed to P. O. Box 42, Minot, ME 04258.
