Becky Mathias Sanders, age 63, a resident of Lexington, TN, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN with Bro. Billy Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 12 Noon – 2:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Becky was born on February 6, 1960, in Brownsville, TN to Macon and Mary Lou Mathias, Sr. She worked as a cook for the Latham’s Meat Market. She loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by daughter, Brandy Dorris (Michael); two brothers, Terry Mathias and Macon Mathias, Jr. ; one sister, Carolyn Cook (Howard); seven grandchildren, Tyler Robertson (Olivia), Victoria Dorris, Aubree Dorris, Luke Dorris, Bristol Dorris, Xane Coatney, and Miah Coatney; one great-grandchild, Tatum Robertson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Sanders; one son, Bradley Benard; her parents, Macon Leroy Mathias, Sr. and Mary Lou Byrd Mathias; two brothers, Eddie Mathias and Jerry Mathias and one sister, Abby Cook. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial be made toward the funeral expenses at Lea & Simmons Funeral Home, 1280 S. Dupree Ave, Brownsville, TN 38012. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.

David Malone was born March 13, 1945 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late Marcus Allen and Martha Verona Plunk Malone. He was united in marriage to Christine Petty on May 25, 1985. David graduated from Bethel Springs High School. He worked in different garment manufacturing facilities as a sewing machine mechanic for 40 years before attending the Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Crump, where he earned a certification in HVAC repair. David went on to operate his own HVAC business for several years before retiring. Hunting, fishing, and working on his farm at Bethel Springs were among his favorite activities. David was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Tennessee Vols. He could fix anything and enjoyed helping others. David was a member of the Dyers Chapel church of Christ near Lexington. David departed this life on November 28, 2023 in Lexington, Tennessee at the age of 78 Years, 8 Months, 15 Days. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Christine (Petty) Malone of Lexington, TN; two daughters, Susan Howie and husband Tim and Charity Bowman and husband Forrest; a son, Mark Malone and wife Hailey; a stepdaughter, Amanda Cagle and husband Darrell; a stepson, Jason Harris and wife Julie; eleven grandchildren: Mitchell Howie and wife Maggie, Matthew Howie, MaryAlice Bowman, Brooks Bowman, Parker Malone, Bodhi Malone, Haven Cagle, Madison Cagle, Ethan Cagle, Kate Harris, and Ava Jane Harris; one great-granddaughter on the way, Maisy Jean Howie; and many extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Sue Malone; a brother, Dorsey Allen Malone; and a great-grandchild, Rhylin Lee Bruce.Show more

"Bobby J. Mays, age 89, of Lexington, TN passed away Monday, July 24, 2023 at the NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Friday, July 28th in the chapel of Austin \u0026amp; Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Pastor James Jett officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery on Dividing Ridge Road in Goodlettsville. The family will receive friends from 11am until time of the service at 1pm Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Mays was born June 24, 1934, in Decaturville, TN to the late Houston B. and Alpha Vera Mays. He was a Graduate of Goodlettsville High School Class of 1953. After graduation, Mr. Mays joined the U. S. Air Force and served for 9 years. He served as a Medical Technologist and held the rank of Sargent. During his time in the military, he was stationed in Alaska, Florida and South Carolina. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mays was preceded in death by a brother, Houston Leroy Mays. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Margaret Evitts Mays; brother, Larry (Norma) Mays; and a sister, Betty Ann (Bruce) Gilmer.
