We are deeply saddened to announce Doyle Dean Thomas, 59, of Santa Maria, passed away on February 28, 2024.Affectionately known as “Deanie“, he was everyone’s favorite guy and the most loving, giving and hilarious person in the world. His laugh and smile were so contagious and genuine and he had the biggest heart. He kept his friends and family close and made sure they all knew that they were loved. Dean was a legend in the oil fields and worked hard doing what he loved. Along with his passion for work, his family, fishing, and dogs were among his favorite things. Dean was the salt of the Earth, and he will be missed forever.Dean was proceeded in death by his parents, Doyle Thomas Jr., and Nancy Lee Thomas. Dean is survived by stepmother Jean Thomas, his brothers, Dustin Thomas and Rodney Berns, sisters, Denise Bevel, and Lonetta Thomas, children, Doyle Thomas, Derek Thomas and Kaylee Simmonsgaard, grandchildren, Doyle Lee Thomas and Nixi Montoya, and many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Dudley Hoffman. Viewing at 12:00 PM and services at 1:00 PM. Flower arrangements may be sent to Dudley Hoffman.

Rick Quintana, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and coach, passed away at 60, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. Along with being well-known for his dedication to coaching young athletes and his passionate involvement in the lowrider community, Rick loved to camp and fish with his loved ones and find solace in the great outdoors. Rick was also a talented pit master who created flavorful memories by gathering friends and family around his barbecues.His family and his well-maintained lowriders, his two ‘64 Chevy’s and his 1950 Bomb, which he loved to show off at car shows, were his pride and joy. Rick will be remembered for his infectious laughter, generous spirit, and unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others. His compassion and commitment to helping others will serve as an inspiration to future generations.Rick is survived by his beloved wife Tina, his sons; Ricky (Yvette), Manuel, Joseph, David (Yoanna), and Trinidad, his daughters Angela and Desiree, his grandchildren; Ricky, Rylee, Alivia, Audrie, Mila, and Luka. Rick is preceded in death by his brother Augustine, mother Rosie, sister Anna, and father Enrique.A viewing will be held on Monday, March 4th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary Chapel, with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 5th at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, and burial to follow at Guadalupe Cemetery.

Howard Anthony Paulsey, fondly known as Tony, passed away on February 24, 2024 at the age of 89. Tony 's life was a testament to courage, commitment, and love.From his early days, Tony showed promise, graduating high school with a spark of greatness in his eyes. His journey unfolded with remarkable experiences, from cruising in his 1951 Mercury Convertible to serving as a lifeguard on the beaches of Florida, where he embraced the responsibility of safeguarding others. Tony's sense of duty led him to join the Marines during the Korean War, serving as a Military Police officer with unwavering discipline. After his military service, he pursued education and met his first wife, Betty Lee. After college, Tony and Betty Lee moved to Oakland, California where they started their family and Tony launched a career in law enforcement eventually becoming a Special Agent in Charge with the FBI in the Santa Maria, California office. His marksmanship skills were legendary, and his commitment to service unwavering until his retirement. After the passing of Betty Lee, Tony found a new life partner in Anastasia. They created a warm and welcoming home together, entertaining friends and family often. Their children and grandchildren will hold many fond memories of gatherings together. Tony was a man of rare qualities. His love for his family, his dedication to fitness, and his playful nature endeared him to all who knew him. His legacy of hard work, integrity, and love will live on in the hearts of those he touched.Tony is survived by his loving and ever-present wife Anastasia, his sons Brad Paulsey (Elaine), Dwight Paulsey (Kari), stepdaughters Kirsten Watson and Sarah Nichols (Keith), and Grandchildren Anthony James, Emily, Reisa, Miller, Porter, Delaney, and Lia.Our family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers who aided in Tony's care this past year. A small gathering will be held at his home at a later date.
