Mr. Barry J. Sindy, 62, of Lynn Haven, FL went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 21, 2023. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he is the son of Ronald L. Sindy and Darla Koerner Cowan. He was the oldest son, the 3rd of 5 siblings. He graduated from Forest High School, Ocala, FL in June of 1979. Barry enlisted in the Navy in 1981. During his 22 years in the Navy, he lived in San Diego, CA. He was stationed on the Midway where he completed a Mediterranean tour of duty. 1982-1985 found him in Hawaii where he attended Dive School. While there he was instrumental in providing dimensions for the drawing of the Arizona. He was approached by his Master Diver to join the Navy Seals. After Hawaii, he was sent to Panama City, FL for 6 months to an experimental Dive School, then stationed in Charleston, S. C. in 1986. Later he was assigned to the USS Recovery RS 42, Little Creek, VA. Barry met and married Patricia Nutter in 1990 and had one son, Austin J. Sindy. He was transferred to Panama City to attend a Sat Dive School. From there he moved to Bethesda, MD where he worked in the Bio. Medical Field, namely the Hyperbaric Chamber. In Norfolk, VA he was aboard the Yellowstone AD 41. Barry returned to Panama City Experimental Dive School in 1996. After retiring from the Navy, he attended Golf Coast Community College, where he graduated Summa Cum Lade. He worked at Merrick industries before retiring a second time. In addition to his son, he is survived by his parents, and his step-parents, Arthur Cowan of Ocala, FL and June Sindy of High Falls, GA; four siblings, Yvette Hollimen and husband, Phil Holliman of Ocala, FL, Beth Sindy of Deland, FL, Kimberly Sindy of Ocala, FL and Jeffrey Sindy and wife Michelle Sindy of Loudon, TN; three grandchildren, Montgomery, Madison and Austin; and seven nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a. m. , Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Southerland Family Funeral Home. Mr. Sindy's remains will be laid to rest at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.

John Fussell

John Clayton Fussell, 76, of Lynn Haven, Florida passed from this life after a long battle with cancer on the morning of November 28th in the arms of his beloved wife, Kathy. John was surrounded by his loving wife, family and friends during his last few days on Earth. John was born on May 13, 1947 in Bremerton, Washington to Johnny and Betty Fussell. The family moved to Prichard, Alabama. John graduated from Vigor High School and Southwest Technical Institute in Mobile. John lived a full and thrilling life. He worked as a defense contractor with Cubic World Wide Tech in San Diego, California. His job took him all over the world. He spent his time island-hopping in Thailand, riding camels in Egypt, and climbing mountains in Japan. He had many other adventures too long to list before returning to Panama City area where he ran his own company, Fussell Engineering. John was a permanent fixture along with his buddy Frank Jeansonne on Fridays at Hunts Oyster Bar in St Andrews. All who knew John treasured his unbounding kindness, his immense patience, his sincerity and his laughter. He loved traveling, motorcycles, sailing, diving and tennis but loved his family above all other things. John and his wife Kathy travelled extensively and enjoyed a myriad of adventures throughout their marriage. Their love for each other could be felt by everyone who surrounded and loved them. John is preceded in death by his daughter Lori Denise, and parents, Johnny and Betty Fussell. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Kathy Fussell, and his four daughters; Jodi Blumenthal (Howard) of Bradford, Pennsylvania, Shari Walsh (Michael) of Panama City Florida, Tiffany Sapp (Jason) of Panama City Florida and Chelsea Martinez (Leonel) of San Diego, California. He was also the grandfather of eleven adoring grandsons and one beautiful granddaughter; John Austin (Hillary), Corey Austin, Danielle Sellick (Jared), Jordan Walsh (Ashton), Jaron Sapp, Caleb Walsh, Justin Sapp, Theodore Sapp, Nathan Walsh, Ezra Chavez-Seng, August Chavez-Seng, and Sonny Martinez. And we can't forget his sweet cat Bella who will miss being spoiled by her daddy. Asked to serve as pallbearers are: John Austin, Corey Austin, Jordan Walsh, Jaron Sapp, Caleb Walsh, Justin Sapp, Theodore Sapp, and Nathan Walsh And Honorary Pallbearer, Harold Warren, John's best friend of forty years. Karen Marie Irby, 63, of Lynn Haven, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 13, 2023. Karen was born on September 10, 1960 in Bowling Green, OH. She attended Bucyrus High School and the Nursing program at Marion Technical School. Karen decided to pursue a career as a Dental Assistant and began her training at the Red Cross Dental Assistant Program at MacDill Air Force Base. She continued her education through the Expanded Functions Dental Program at the University of Florida. After completing her training, Karen began her career at Dental Health Services in Tampa, FL. Her career ended 34 years later at Bay Implant and Perio where she worked as a Surgical Dental Assistant. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, arts & crafts, and walking. Above all, Karen was a proud mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert W. With heavy hearts, the family and friends of Jeff Kent, 47, of Lynn Haven, Florida, announce his passing on November 7th, 2023. Jeff was a loving husband, cherished son, and devoted friend. He was dependable, and always there when needed. He always knew how to make you smile, and had never met a stranger. Jeff was a creative soul, who could take nothing and make something remarkable out of it. He loved to take photos of the world around him as a professional photographer. He volunteered his services to the "Santa Paws" events for many years to raise money for homeless animals. Some of his favorite hobbies were wood-working and creating gifts for his loved ones. Jeff loved to travel and go on adventures. But mostly, he cherished his time with his friends and family. Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer, his father and mother, Benjamin and Carolyn, sister, Amanda (Morgan), father and mother-in-law, Mark and Donna, brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Shannon (Tyler, Ryan, Anna), Ty and Emily (Malachia), Austin and Brittany (Michael), and niece, Amelia. She will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother and grandmother that loved sports, her pets, cooking and supporting our veterans. She was the founder and owner of PC Accounting Company formally on Harrison Avenue. She was extremely active in local youth baseball in the 1980s/90s. Paula was predeceased by her parents, which were both veterans of WWII. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Lt Col Richard Clampitt, USMC (Ret), her sons Richard Clampitt and David Clampitt ( Julie), grandchildren Logan, Maddie and Mollie.
