Juan Del Valle, also affectionately known as Johnny, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024. Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on June 24, 1956, Juan lived a resilient and dedicated life filled with numerous accomplishments and joys. He was a humble man, known for his unwavering commitment to his family, especially his beloved grandchildren whom he cherished above all else. After 15 cherished years in Springfield, Massachusetts, his spirit now rests. Juan was a talented machine operator in the CNC industry and was markedly proud of his certification from Asnuntuck Community College for Computer Numerical Control Set Up and Programming. His hobbies were a testament to his diverse interests and talents. He found happiness in collecting coins, playing cards and dominoes, and engaging in DIY projects. A gifted dancer, Juan's passion for dance was infectious. His life was marked by a deep Catholic faith, reflected in the verse from the book of Matthew, "Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your master."(Matthew 25:23) Juan is survived by his children, Jennifer, Juan, Jonathan, and Alex, and his brother, Carlos. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maximino Del Valle and Ines Colon, and his sisters, Luz, Olga, and Mercedes. A wake for Juan Del Valle will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM, at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, MA., followed by his burial at Oak Grove Cemetery of Springfield Inc., 426 Bay Street, Springfield, Massachusetts. Linda Ann Rurak (Ely), 67, of Springfield passed peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Friday, February 23rd. Linda was born in Springfield on August 26th, 1956 to the late Floyd and Jane Ely (Elliot). She was a graduate of Classical High School and Western New England College. She was raised in 16 Acres and later moved to Wilbraham where she resided, and raised her family for over 35 years. Linda began her career in banking, and later moved on to retail at Kay Jewelers while raising her children. Later in her life she pursued her Master’s Degree and became a special education teacher for the City of Springfield and recently retired from the William N. DeBerry School. Linda enjoyed being outdoors walking, listening to music, watching crime shows and opening up a good book. She loved to travel and would plan getaway weekends whenever possible. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her many girlfriends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother John Ely. She is survived by her devoted husband Phil Rurak, her loving children Danielle Rurak and Phillip Rurak. She also leaves her sister Laurie Bongiorni and her husband Frank, and brother Richard Ely as well as her nieces Francesca , Nicole and nephew Floyd. The family would like to thank Dr. Rebecca Heist and her team at Mass General Hospital in Boston for all their care over the past two and a half years. In addition, a special thank-you for the love and support from her many friends especially Donna Vicalvi and Jill Keefe for always being there by her side. And lastly, Judy Kennedy who’s unconditional support and devotion will always be remembered. Her family will host friends at Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Rd in Springfield on Thursday, March 7th from 10am-12 noon during a period of visitation. A funeral home service will follow beginning at 12 noon. She will then be laid to rest at Hillcrest Park Cemetery on Parker St in Springfield. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers are kindly directed to the American Cancer Society.

Bryon Edward Hendrix, formerly of Gaylordsville, died unexpectedly at his home in West Springfield, MA on February 25, 2024. He was born in New Milford on January 15, 1966, son to the late Lynn and Barbara Hendrix. He was 58 years old. Bryon grew up in Washington Depot and was a 1985 graduate of Shepaug Valley Regional H.S. He lived in Gaylordsville for many years before moving to Indiana, and most recently to Massachusetts, to be with family. Bryon worked for many years on a road crew for the State of CT, DOT but took early retirement due to his challenging health issues. Bryon enjoyed spending time with family, watching the news and talking politics. He also enjoyed listening to country music and collecting coins and pens. He was a man of few words but an exceptional listener. He will be remembered mostly for his kind heart and gentle nature. Bryon will be dearly missed by his siblings, Darlene Edmonds (Alan) of FL, Wilfred Laplante and Kevin Laplante (Linda) all of New Mexico, Laurie Anderson (Kurt) of Gaylordsville, Robin Hendrix of MA, and Cynthia Makuc (John) of MA. He is also survived by 13 nieces/nephews, 6 great-nieces/nephews and his beloved furry companions, Harleigh and Dakota. Burial and services are private and in care of Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street New Milford, CT.

Frankie was born in Springfield on May 8, 1990, the son of Paul Rovelli and Patricia Stone both of Springfield. Frank was a graduate of Central High School and recently was employed for several years by the Laborers’ Union. He enjoyed all aspects of fitness and bodybuilding, and was known for his quick wit and great sense of humor. In addition to his parents, he leaves a brother, Nicolas Rovelli; two sisters, Gabrielle Rovelli and Natasha Cavallon; his maternal grandmother, Ekaterini Stone. He also leaves a large extended family including his beloved aunt, BethAnn Rovelli and uncle, Glen Redmond. Frankie was also predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Ciro and Patricia Rovelli and his maternal grandfather, Ronnie Stone. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 1-3 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield. Matt, as he was fondly known, brought joy to everyone around him from his earliest days. Despite facing the challenges of Crohn's Disease, he maintained an unwavering spirit, becoming an embodiment of resilience and kindness. Growing up in Read’s Landing, MN, overlooking the majestic Mississippi River, Matt developed a love for the outdoors and an unmistakable Minnesotan accent. His adventurous spirit led him to engage in activities like hunting, fishing, kayaking, and hiking. Matt's cheerful demeanor and willingness to help others made him one of the most beloved individuals in his community. Despite health struggles, Matt excelled in academics and sports. Graduating from Wabasha-Kellogg High School in 2015, he received the Falcon Award for good sportsmanship. Pursuing his passion for law enforcement, he joined the Burnsville Police Department, earning the Life Saving Medal for his dedication and courage. Matt, known as "The Book" for his quick learning, became a skilled police officer, a trained hostage negotiator, and evidence officer. He was the true definition of a hero, always ready to put others before himself. His mischievous sense of humor, love for family, friends, and his loyal dog Ranger, made him a source of inspiration and laughter for all who knew him. Matthew Henke Ruge's light may have dimmed, but his legacy of kindness, bravery, and humor will forever shine in our hearts. He leaves behind a grateful community, grieving family, and fellow officers at Burnsville Police Department. Dani was a vibrant soul with a contagious laugh and a free spirit that could light up any room she entered. She was the life of the party and cherished spending time with her friends and family. In her career, Dani worked in the restaurant industry, bringing joy to those she served. Outside of work, she found immense joy in laughter and being surrounded by loved ones. She adored spending time with her nieces and nephews, as well as her siblings and friends. Dennis James Guidry, 67, of Riverdale Street, West Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. Born in DeRidder, Louisiana, he was a son of the late Lawrence Guidry and the late Pearl (Richard) Guidry. Mr. Guidry moved to Springfield at an early age. After graduation from high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps. Dennis was employed as a bus driver for Pioneer Valley Transit Authority. He enjoyed fishing and racing cars. Dennis is survived by six children, Dennis Brown, Tyreck Poole, Lamear Poole, Jahleele Guidry, and Antoinette Guidry, all of Springfield, and LaShonda Johnson of Pennsylvania; three brothers, Wesley Guidry of Seabrook, Texas, Kenneth Guidry of Port Arthur, Texas, and Michael Guidry of Springfield; five sisters, Ramona Thomas of Springfield, Pronolia Chavis of Savannah, Georgia, Lawrence Clark of Chicopee, Massachusetts, Rono Mensah of New Iberia, Louisiana, and Debra Dorlouis of Ludlow, Massachusetts; seven grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was born on March 8, 1977, in Rockville, CT to Terry and Lillian (Chase) Hawk of Palmer. She has lived most of her life in Palmer, MA and was currently employed at Country Banks corporate office in Ware as an escrow specialist. Previously she was employed at Monson Savings Bank for 14 years. Sarah loved Christmas and her favorite movie was Elf, she had a huge heart and at Christmas would donate toys locally to Santas Elves in Palmer for children in need. Sarah loved animals and was affectionately named "Chicken Mom & Dog Mom" by her family. Besides her parents Terry and Lillian, she will be deeply missed by her husband, Michael Hermanson and her three daughters, Alexia Lambert of Palmer, Kaylee Lambert (Alex) of Ware, Olivia Hermanson (Anthony) of Palmer. She will also be dearly missed by her sister, Shannon Jones (Fransico) of Groton, CT, nieces Lindsey, Samantha and Anna, mother-in-law Helen Hermanson, sister-in-law Lisa Haughey (Happy), brothers-in-law, Ray and Stevie (Melissa) Hermanson, her godchild/niece Josie and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Nancy Ann Caballero, age 76 of Springfield, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 25, 2024. Born on September 4,1947, Nancy was blessed with her many roles as a loving wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and even Fur Mom. Nancy was preceded in death by her Husband, Angel Caballero; her Mom Virginia Gilbert; her Father Emery Gilbert; her Sisters Diane Seymour and Beverly Gilbert Spille, and her brother Michael Gilbert. After graduating from Mercy’s Nursing Program, Nancy spent her life as a dedicated RN for 53 years, retiring from her position in 2022 from Winggate Nursing Home on Bicentennial Highway in Springfield. She was feisty and stubborn to the end, but loved her family more than words could ever describe. She would do everything she could for the people closest to her. She loved watching her Documentaries from Lt. Joe Kenda on Homicide Hunter and watching her many crime and detective shows. She also enjoyed reading Alex Cross series by James Patterson. Every holiday wasn’t complete without a box of Chocolate-Covered Cherries, her favorite treat to eat. Nancy leaves behind her son James Gamache, her many Grandchildren and spouses; Kyle Gamache and Haley Gamache, Alex Gamache and Casey Gamache, Ciara Herlihy and Alan Herlihy, Jo Gamache and Jason Fish, James Gamache Jr. and Lizzie Gamache; and her Great-Grandchildren; Khaleesi, Abel, Isabeau, Levi, Jaxson and Jaiden. Nancy will be having a later burial at St. Michael Cemetery in Springfield, MA. Flowers are not required but always appreciated. Bernardo “Benny” E. Garcia Jr. was born at Baystate Hospital in Springfield, MA on January 8, 1974. He tragically passed away at home on February 24, 2024, at the young age of 50. Benny’s biggest passion was racing. He was happiest when on the racetrack in his open wheel modified race car until the birth of his only child, Summer (Sam). From that day on, his passion shifted to all things Summer (Sam). Although, he did carry on his love for everything motorized through his job as a highly skilled and respected Diesel Mechanic, working for Middlesex Corporation based in Littleton, MA. In addition to Summer (Sam) Garcia, Benny is survived by his beloved dog and faithful companion Bumper, his mother Linda (Sepanek) Boucher, his father Bernardo E. Garcia Sr., his sister Juli (Garcia) Cyr and her husband Robert, his nephew Kyle Cyr and nieces Carissa Vergnani, Sophia Vergnani, and Eveline Vergnani. He also leaves behind his Aunt Tina (Garcia) Allen and husband Mike, Aunt Anna (Garcia) Demko and husband Mike, and Aunt Diana (Sepanek) Coppa LaRue. Benny was predeceased by his Aunt Cynthia Garcia, as well as his nephew, Tanner Brach. Benny held so many people near and dear to him and considered them family, it would be impossible to name them all. Benny loved cooking, food, his family and friends, and every dog he ever had, including Keisha, Bruiser, Autumn, and Bumper. He was always there to help anyone and everyone in need. Benny lived his life, first and foremost, happy!
