"Barbara Jane Ward, 86, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away October 5, 2023. She was born January 17, 1937 in Indianapolis to the late Robert Frederick and Thelma May (Bunce) Staten. Barbara was a graduate of Emmerich Manual High School. She married Duerwood S. Cobb in 1953, and he preceded her in death in 1956. She later married Curtis Ward March 1, 1968, and he survives. Barbara was a secretary for AFNB Bank for over ten years, before retiring to raise her family. She was a longtime member of Calvary Tabernacle. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 4:00 p. m. until 8:00 p. m. at Shirley Brothers Thompson Road Chapel, 3333 East Thompson Road. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 1:00 p. m. at Calvary Tabernacle, 902 Fletcher Avenue, with visitation one hour prior. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Curtis Ward; son, Anthony M. Cobb (Jennifer); daughter, Kimberly D. Grayson (Daniel); grandchildren, Nathaniel A. Cobb, Gabrielle L. Cobb, Brittany D. Hardwick (Nathan), Alex G. Cobb (Skye), Zachary Grayson and Paige A. Cobb; great-grandchildren, Aviyah, Giuseppina, and Harper; and brother, Harry Staten (Carolyn). She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin S. Ward; brothers, Joseph F. Staten, William L. Staten, John R. Staten, and Robert F. Staten, Jr. ; and great-granddaughter, Noellia Cobb. "

Charleen Diane Crites, 82, Greenwood, Indiana, a longtime Morgan County resident, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Independence Village in Greenwood, Indiana. She was born Thursday, May 29, 1941, in Tacoma, Washington to the late Norman and Lillian (McCloud) Knudtson AhNee. Mrs. Crites was a homemaker most of her life. She formerly worked for a short time as assistant manager of Ed Schocks Toy and Hobby Store and as an electronic assembler for Matrix Corporation in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a 30-year member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Mooresville, Indiana before becoming a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Martinsville. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, and playing games with family and friends. She married her late husband, Edward Crites, on February 11, 1956, they shared 61 years of marriage before his death on February 25, 2017. She leaves behind a host of loving family including her children, Edward G. Crites (wife, Lisa) of Martinsville and Brenda Scotten (husband, Jonathon) and Victoria Katterhenry of Greenwood, Indiana; son-in-law, Bill O'Neal of Martinsville; brother, Lawrence "Larry" Knudtson of Tacoma, Washington; sister, Luana Bue of Chehalis, Washington; grandchildren, Ryan, Joseph and Tony O'Neal, Aaron Crites, Donald, Michael Katterhenry, Megan Kirkley, Nicole Andrew, Randall Ritter and Crystal Scotten; twenty-three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Theresa O'Neal; brothers, Charles and Robert Knudtson and sister, Mary Lou Sandlin. Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023, from 12:00-2:00 pm at Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center. Kevin Jennings, 59, of Greenwood, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, in Greenwood, Indiana. Kevin was born on Tuesday, September 15, 1964, in Franklin, Indiana to the late Frank Jennings and Ida Ruth Jennings. Kevin was a lifelong automotive mechanic who could fix anything that was asked of him. He spent many years working for the Greenwood Community School Corporation Bus Garage and Jessup Trucking. He most recently retired from Smitty's Auto & RV. Kevin greatly valued the time he spent with family and friends and will leave behind a treasure trove of stories. His hobbies included winning at the casino and attending car shows. He enjoyed spending his time camping at Paynetown State Park and along the riverfront in Madison Indiana. While camping, he could be found riding his scooter or golf cart, cruising the lake on a boat, or sitting around the campfire with a Platinum. . . "You know what I mean?" Kevin will be remembered by his family and close friends as "THE" Uncle Kevin. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, and older brothers: David and Michael. Kevin is survived by his son, Kevin Tyler Jennings, of Greenwood, Indiana; his brother, Greg (Amy) Jennings, of Chattanooga, Tennessee; his sisters, Carol Jennings, of Indianapolis, Indiana; Frankie (Gary) Rowland, of Greenwood, Indiana; Bridget Jennings, of Whiteland, Indiana; many nieces and nephews, friends, and loved ones. Otis LaMar Sailor, 94, of Fishers, formally of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Greenwood Village South in Greenwood, Indiana. He was born on May 6, 1929 to Oscar and Chloe (Dillman) Sailor in Wakarusa, Indiana. Otis graduated from Wakarusa High School in 1947. He proudly served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He retired from Motor Supply Company in Elkhart, Indiana as a machinist after 35 years. Otis was a faithful member of Noblesville First United Methodist Church. He and his wife, Elizabeth attended their bible study classes. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed watching sports, especially the Chicago Cubs. Otis loved traveling all over the United States. In his retirement years, he looked forward to trips to Branson, Missouri with his wife Elizabeth. He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Michael) Eagan; son, Steven Sailor; grandchildren, Vincent (Annie) Eagan, Adrienne (Fiance’, Isaiah) Eagan, Evan Sailor, and Lauren Sailor. Otis is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth Sailor; sisters, Bernice Miller, Gladys Swihart, and Ruth Keyser. Services will be held at 4:00 pm on Monday, December 11, 2023 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers, with Pastor PT Morgan officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart, Indiana at a later date. Kimberly "Kim" Ann Roome, 54, of Greenwood, IN went home to her Lord and Savior on November 11, 2023. Kim was born August 19,1969 in Indianapolis, IN to Kenneth Mahurin Sr. and Gloria Jean Mahurin. Kim was a beautiful and vibrant soul who loved with all of her heart. Her bubbly and silly personality ensured that her presence was always well known. Kim loved going on vacations to the beach, Christmas time, and spending time with her family. The most important thing in the world to her was her family. She instilled so much of her spirit in them that will live on forever. Kim was a devoted member of Southwood Church where she volunteered and helped whenever she could. In 1988 she met the love of her life, Dan Roome. For 35 years they created a love that will live on through eternity. Left to honor her love and memory are her husband Dan Roome, children Daniel (Mikala) Roome Jr. and Kristy (Mark) Wilson, her grandchildren Memphys, Xavier, Mac, and Riley, her mom Gloria Jean Mahurin, her sister Jeanne (Tony) Turner, her brother Frank (Wendi) Mahurin, and nieces and nephews.
