Barbara Smith Obituary

Barbara Ann Smith of North Brunswick, NJ passed away on May 7, 2023 at RWJ Hospital, New Brunswick. She was 78 years old. Born in Jersey City, NJ and raised in Hoboken, NJ, Barbara raised her family in Old Bridge, NJ before relocating to North Brunswick in 1996. She was employed by Rutgers University as an administrative assistant for over 20 years. Barbara was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Augustine of Canterbury Church. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, a skilled cook, animal lover, and avid collector of Hummel figurines. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Eleanor Spaulding, brother Joseph, and son Gregory; Barbara is survived by her loving son Richard C. Smith, Jr. ; son and daughter-in-law Christopher and Emily Smith; grandchildren Christopher, Julia, Kiersten, Charlotte, and Lillian; and former husband Richard C. Smith, Sr. Friends and family will be received on Saturday 5:00pm - 7:00pm at the Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown, NJ with the funeral service celebrated at 7:00pm.
