Barbara Pruitt Obituary

Mrs. Barbara Lou Spann Pruitt, age 63, of Jefferson passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Ward and Rev. JC Greene officiating. Burial will follow in the Main Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00pm on Thursday, May 11, 2023; one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Pruitt was born in Slocomb, Alabama on February 20, 1960 to the late Joseph Ralph and Bessie Mae Moss Spann. She worked for many years as the clerk at Bristol Citgo. Barbara enjoyed traveling, listening to music and cooking. She was a giant fan of Alabama football. Mrs. Pruitt is survived by: her fiance, Greg Main, of Jefferson; a daughter, Tammy Mast Verhagen, of Eustis, Florida; two step children, Alisha Shew Crews and Sheun Shew, both of Wilkesboro; four brothers, Johnny Carter, of Slocomb, Alabama, James Franklin Spann, Joseph Ralph Spann, Jr. , of Slocomb, AL and Jackie Lee Moss, of Fruitland Park, FL; a sister, Judy Gail Wright, of Slocomb, AL; three grandchildren, Giatlin, Stacy and Coleton; several nieces and nephews also survive.
