Barbara Jean (Tschillard) Prewein went home to her Savior on Saturday, September 2, 2023. She was born on November 26, 1938 to Clarence Richard Tschillard and Verda Gladys (Geesey) Tschillard at home in Davenport, IA. She married Donald John Prewein on September 26, 1959 at Calvary Baptist Church in Davenport, IA. She is survived by her husband Donald of Deltona, FL, daughter Kim Smith (Dale) of Deltona, FL, daughter Teresa Prewein of Alexandria, TN, son John Prewein (Bethanie) of DeBary, FL, son David Prewein (Donna) of DeLand, FL, daughter Angela Prewein of Deltona, FL, and sister Shirley Rodgers (Richard) of E. Moline, IL. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, John Ross Smith, Kaitlynne Prewein, Victoria Stevenson (Cody), Jordan Prewein (Katie), Chase Prewein, and 8 great-grandchildren, Gabriel Smith, Peyton Ferrari, Bryson Huff, Adalynn Stevenson, Jaylynne Prewein, Grayson Prewein, Maddison Stevenson, and Brooklyn Espinosa. A 9th great-grandchild, Georgia Stevenson, is due in January 2024. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Barbara is pre-deceased by her parents, sister Lorraine Kohl and her husband Victor, brother Clarence Geesey Tschillard and his wife Betty, and sister Verda Wheeler and her husband Allen. Barbara retired from State Farm Automobile Insurance Company where she worked in their auto claims department in Daytona Beach, FL. She was known for always bringing treats in to work for all the holidays and special occasions. Everyone loved her goodies! She was a beautiful kind-hearted woman who was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved God and she loved her family. She had such a Christ-like spirit about her always helping those in need. Her family misses her very much, but we know that we will see her again one day. We love you!

"A gentle man with an unforgettable smile, Neil Charles Chamelin, born om New York City on January 16, 1942 to Dr. and Mrs. Isidore Chamelin passed away October 12, 2023 in Deland, Florida. Neil is survived by his wife, Vicki, sons Chris of Tallahassee and Todd of Oviedo; his adored granddaughters Tally, Casey, Laney and Jessy Chamelin, Oviedo; nephews Mike Wood (Linda), Kevin Wood (Mindy), Mark Wood (Diane) and nieces Teri Gavin and Julie Perry. Neil grew up in Sarasota, graduating in 1959 from Sarasota High School where he played in the high school band and was the ringmaster for the high school Sailor Circus. After attending FSU for two years Neil transferred to Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI where he met his wife, Vicki. Upon their graduation with bachelor degrees in criminal justice they moved to Florida where Neil pursued his interest in law, graduation from Stetson University College of Law in 1968 and Vicki became the proud mother of their two sons. While attending law school Neil taught criminal law at St. Petersburg Jr. College, later becoming the Director of SPJC's administration Division before moving his family to Athens, GA to become the Director of the Police Science Division, Institute of Government, University of Georgia. Living in Athens they became avid Georgia Football fans. Although they loved their Georgia Bulldogs Neil moved his family to Tallahassee accepting the position as Director of the Florida Police Standards and Training Commission and Director, Standards and Training Division, Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Neil was a much sought after speaker and teacher who wrote several text books in criminal investigation which are used in college's today. He was delighted his legacy for writing was passed down to his granddaughter Laney, who last year at the age of 14 wrote "Every Breathe You Took" soon to be published by Amazon Publishing. His teachings took him to Germany where he was Director of Criminal Justice Programs, Troy State University, European Region. Neil and his family traveled throughout Europe during their two years in Germany returning to Tallahassee in 1982. While living in Tallahassee Neil became and active booster and President of Leon High School Swimming and Diving Association, President of the area Tallahassee Aquatic Club, 1992-93 President of Springtime Tallahassee and a supporter of the Tallahassee Parks and Recreation Football Program where his son Chris was a coach for nineteen years. He and Vicki were die-hard Silver Chief Seminole Boosters for over thirty years. Upon his retirement as an Assistant State Attorney, 2nd Judicial Circuit in Tallahassee, Neil and Vicki moved to DeLand, Florida to be closer to their granddaughters. He was proud of Tally and Casey, each attending Florida Colleges on Academic Scholarships, Laney the writer and Jessy, a star lacrosse player. Although Neil suffered from ataxia and essential tremor, a genetic neurological disorder, he attended as many functions for "his girls" as possible. He supported his Seminoles and Bulldogs from the comfort of his much loved recliner. In his memory donations may be made to: University of Florida Foundation for Movement Disorders P. O. Tonja Lee McGuire, 58, died after a long battle with cancer and other health issues on November 27, 2023 at her home with her loved ones beside her. Tonja was born on September 23, 1965 in DeLand Florida, the daughter of James O. Hickman and Pauline (Merckle) Hickman. Tonja was a hard working woman. She helped run the family business and was a homemaker. She loved her family and friends very deeply. Willie Jones, Jr. , was born June 16, 1944, in Lawson, Arkansas to the late Sallie B. Toliver and Louis Jones. He passed away peacefully, after a lengthy illness. Willie was raised by his two aunts, Annie M. Reed and Virginia Chambliss. He attended Grade School in Old Union School District and Washington High School in El Dorado, Arkansas. After graduation he attended Tuskegee Institute (University) in Tuskegee, Alabama, where he graduated and received his B. S. degree in Electrical Engineering. He later joined the Army and was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army Corp. of Engineers where he spent two years on active duty. After his military stay, he got a job with Sunstrand Machine Tool Company in Rockford, IL for four years. Later he was hired by International Harvester Co. , and then transferred to Navistar Truck and Engine Company. Willie was a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated. Also, he was a Prince Hall Mason, a member of Pershing Rifle Military, and Electro Tech Engineering Fraternity. He leaves to cherish his memory: His wife of 49 years, Mary L. Lockhart-Jones, they were married April 13, 1974, one daughter, Monica (Kerrah) Fuller, Indianapolis, Indiana, one son, Marcus J. Jones, Los Angeles, California.
