We have lost a wonderful person and longtime friend. Greg knew few strangers and has touched the hearts and minds of countless souls. Greg passed away after a short illness peacefully at Hope West surrounded by his wife Charlyne and two daughters. Greg was born in Aurora, Illinois to Marion and Leo Minor. Greg was married to the love of his life Charlyne for 59 years. They have two daughters Karen and Kristine, along with three grandchildren Brittany, Andrew and Caroline. Greg took the opportunity to relocate his family to beautiful Colorado in 1982 and continued a successful Redi-Mix Concrete career. Several family members and friends chose to follow to Colorado soon after. Greg was an honest, hardworking businessman who was devoted to his family. Among his many hobbies Greg loved to travel and earned his pilot license in the early 90’s. Greg brought humor and smiles to all and was known for his adventurous spirit. Some of his ventures included deep sea fishing, pushing cows at cow camp above Carbondale, being part owner of American Standardbred Horses, golfing, stock car racing, watching wildlife and playing cards. Of the many vacations taken over his lifetime Greg enjoyed yearly trips to Florida with his family. Another jaunt involved puddle jumping across the country to different points of interest with friends in three private planes on their way to Alaska to fish and explore. Greg had a strong love for all types of animals his entire life. He loved chocolate malts and good food. Greg will always be remembered by his family and friends as the warm generous man who consistently supported them in all their endeavors. A celebration of Greg’s life will be held after the holidays. On November 26, 2023 surrounded by his family Lawrence "LA" Archuleta started his journey to meet his sister Berna "B" in Heaven. Born on July 22, 1975 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Larry (Veronica) Archuleta and Paula (Manuel) Robles. He spent most of his childhood and teen years in Salt Lake City, Utah before moving to Grand Junction, Colorado. LA was a guy known for his contagious smile and outgoing personality. He loved life and the people in it. Lawrence had a passion for helping anywhere he could and making sure anyone around him felt the power of his kind loving heart like occasionally dropping off flowers to his aunt Mariann. Being the life of the party you would find him dancing, singing, quoting movies and randomly giving nicknames to anyone. If you ever had the privilege of cruising with Lawrence in any type of weather; the windows were down, music blasting, arm out the window asking "you good?" HE WILL DEFINITELY BE MISSED! He is survived by his parents, his fiancé Yolanda. Children: Joslin "Jiggs" (Josh), Marcus, Brooklyn "Bk" , Madison, Mia, Mariah "Mk" and Elijah. Siblings: Rosie "Martinez" (Kiyanna "Mama Bear"), Roselia (Efren), Anthony (Melissa) all of Grand Junction, Colorado. Cruz (Juan) Larissa, Scooby, Joey, and Josiah all of Salt Lake City, Utah. Nieces and Nephews: Lorenzo (Shanoah) Passion "P. Diddy" (Ryan), Nikko, Arianna, Omar, Jax "Stax" Cruzito, Mateo, Ezekiel "Zeek da Freak" Amilio, Audrina, Layla. Lawrence loved being Grandpa "Papa" to Paisley, Peyton, Alyas and Axarya. He is proceeded in death by his sister Berna Contreras, daughter Krystal Naranjo and brother John Martinez. Ruth Elaine Annis passed away on November 23, 2023 peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her sons Mark and Steve. She was 92 years old, a lifelong Grand Junction native. Ruth graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1949 after graduation, She attended dental hygiene school in San Francisco for a year and Mesa college after receiving an Associate’s Degree. Ruth was a special education substitute teacher for fifteen years, at the age of 50 returned back to UNC in Greeley Colorado where she earned a degree in regular education and two Masters degrees in special Education. Ruth taught school for twenty years at Columbine elementary school. Where she touched the lives of countless students. Ruth married former husband, Ethan Annis in 1953, and had two sons: Mark Annis of Orlando, FL and Steve Annis of Montrose, CO. Ruth’s greatest passions in life were her granddaughters, golf, Cross county skiing, downhill skiing, hiking, cycling and her two miniature schnauzers. Ruth was a member of the Tiara Rado and Lincoln Park ladies club, Beta Sigma Phi and Outing club. Ruth traveled the world extensively with her sons, family and close friends. Ruth is survived by her son’s and family, Mark and Lynn Annis-Orlando FL, Steve Annis- Grand Junction CO, daughter in law Lori Annis- Montrose CO, her granddaughter’s Emily Annis- Ft. Collins CO, Abbey Annis- Ft. Collins CO, and Ashley Garrett of Orlando FL. Her funeral will be held on December 15, 2023 at the First Congregation Church in Grand Junction at 11:00 am. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to HopeWest in Grand Junction. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced.Show more

Lyn Bell Baker, born Marilyn Ethel Bell, age 86, of Grand Junction, CO, passed peacefully in her sleep at Hope West Hospice Care Center on November 19, 2023. Born July 1, 1937 to Willard Bell and Anna Guerra Bell in Springfield, MA Marilyn graduated Milton High School and later in life received her BA in Computer Technology at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ. Lyn married Richard Harold Hodges, of Wollaston, MA on May 29, 1958, with whom she had two children, Paula Marie and Peter Richard. Dick Hodges passed away in April 1983, and Lyn remarried in 1990 to Carl Baker of Brooklyn, NY. An active member in all her churches, in choir and fellowship, Lyn most recently was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morehead City, NC. She served many disaster relief efforts all along the east coast with the North Carolina Men's Baptist Disaster Relief organization, including Hurricane Katrina in LA. Lyn also made several missionary trips to Cuba teaching the women how to sew. Lyn loved to travel and get to know new people. She visited Israel, Greece, Turkey, England, Hungary, Australia, New Zealand, Scotland, France, Canada, Cuba and all 50 states in the US. Lyn loved children. In addition to her own, she fostered four children. She also hosted two Australian exchange students in the mid 70's. Her home was always open to children of friends and neighbors. Lyn was preceded in death by her father, Willard; Lyn cared for her mother, Anna, during her decline due to Alzheimer's until her death. She was also predeceased by her younger brother LT JG Frederick (Fudgie) USN, and both of her husbands, Dick and Carl. Survivors include her older brother Master Sgt. Willard Bell, Jr. USA, Ret. and his wife Heidi, of Camden, DE; son, Peter R. Hodges and his wife, Renee, of Palisade, CO; daughter Paula M. Hodges and her husband Bill Cote, of Ft. Myers, FL; granddaughter, Tahverle Carroll and her husband Logan and their children Blakely and Rip, of Littleton, CO. Lyn's ashes will be buried in the family plot in Milton Cemetery, 211 Centre Street, Milton, MA. A graveside prayer will be said on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Morehead City Missionary Fund, 810 Bridges St. Morehead City, NC. 252-726-4142. Lyn wished to be remembered as a child of God, who loved the Lord.Show more
