BARBARA JEAN FISHER, age 97 of Big Rapids, Michigan formerly of Addison, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Mission Point Nursing & Physical Rehabilitation Center of Big Rapids, Michigan. She was born on February 20, 1925 in Addison, Michigan to Gerald E. and Velma N. (Sawdey) Fisk. She married Kenneth R. Fisher on July 30, 1942 in Indiana, and he preceded her in death on June 21, 1993. Barbara was raised in the Addison area, before moving to Jackson, Michigan and then to Virginia for several years. She then moved back to Jackson for many years. Barbara attended Jackson High School. She was formerly employed at Woolworths Dime Store in Jackson, Dick's Dime Store in Phoebus, Virginia, the Hayes Hotel in Jackson for 25 years. Barbara was a member of the Moose Lodge in Jackson and she loved to read, crocheting and gardening. Barbara is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Geib of Chippewa, Michigan, two grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth R. Fisher, one son, Richard E. Fisher and one sister, Virginia Ann Burman. Visitation will be 1-2 P. M. Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison, Michigan. Burial will take place in Dibble Cemetery, Addison, Michigan.
