Rosemarie Rita Cutrone, 96, of Milford, Connecticut, long-time resident of both Pelham, and Eastchester, New York, passed away peacefully in the afternoon on January 1, 2023, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by loved ones. She is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Dr. Horace Bernard Cutrone. Rosemarie was born at home on April 13, 1926, in the Bronx, New York, and was the only child of Octavia Iamascia (nee Cosentino), and Anthony Edward Iamascia. She attended Ladycliff College in Highland Falls, NY. At the age of 22 she married Horace Bernard Cutrone, of Brooklyn, New York, and went on to have two children, Daniel Anthony Cutrone, and Marietta Regina Di Donato (nee Cutrone). She lived a very happy and full life, and her family meant absolutely everything to her. Rosemarie was an extremely giving and selfless person, volunteering at New Rochelle Hospital (now Sound Shore Medical Center) for a total of 25 years of service, which included running the hospital gift shop, working in the laboratory, taking newborn baby photos, and organizing transportation for the Road to Recovery Program. She was also an amazing cook, and cooked Sunday dinner for her family for over 50 years. Rosemarie's faith was very important to her, and she was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Pelham Manor, New York, where she served as President of the Rosary Altar Society. Later on she became a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe, New York, and a member of their church choir. She was an excellent bridge player, and enjoyed playing for many years at Bronxville Women's Club, in Bronxville, New York, and then later on at the Anthony J. Posillipo Community Center in Rye Brook, New York. Her other hobbies included playing the piano, ceramics, hosting dinner parties, and spoiling her grandchildren. Along with being the most loving mother, she was both a devoted grandmother to Matthew, Michelle, Allison, Rosemarie, Jay, Justine, and Monica, and great grandmother to Veronica, Leah, Johnathan, Annamarie and Luke. She was a dedicated mother-in-law to Julian Di Donato, Gertrude Higgins, and Colette Cutrone. She was also a Godmother to nine separate family members. Rosemarie was the funniest, most caring, selfless, and compassionate woman. All her life, and even in her final days, she always provided some sort of comic relief, or thoughtful compliments to those around her, often both. She was the matriarch of the family, and was a constant source of joy and laughter for everyone around her. The countless happy memories of her will always be cherished by her loved ones. Her legacy will continue to live on, and she will be forever missed.Show more
