Barbara Nell Coen passed away July 9, 2023 in Jacksboro. She was born April 1, 1948 in Mineral Wells the daughter of John Timothy and Veva Marie Gann McCoy. She was a fun and caring person. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 siblings, and daughter: DeeAnn McMichael. Jerry Kenneth Mitchell, Sr. , 85, passed away with his family by his side, into the arms of His Savior, on December 2, 2023 in Springtown. Funeral Service: 11:00 a. m. , Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Springtown. Visitation: 10 to 11 a. m. , Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Springtown. Jerry was born on October 20, 1938 in Vernon, Alabama. He graduated from Lamar County High School in 1958 and graduated with his BS degree in Agricultural Education from Auburn University in 1962. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Mollie Roberts, on November 28, 1964, and they would be together for 59 years. Jerry graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a MS degree in Theological Education in 1972. From May 1972 to December 2001, Jerry worked for the Springtown Independent School District. He belonged to the Springtown Optimist Club, Joplin Masonic Lodge, and was a member of the Shriners. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother and father. His mother died when he was 19 years old and a senior in high school. He is also preceded in death by 5 brothers, 4 sisters, 3 sister-in-laws, 3 brother-in-laws, 3 nephews, and 1 great niece. Jerry is survived by his wife Dottie, his son Ken, his daughter-in-law Jenna, and his granddaughter Sage. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Martha, several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and great nephews. Jerry requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital for children in his name at 2222 Wellborn Street, Dallas, TX 75219 (214-559-5000). Jerry was born with one leg shorter than the other; however, he never let this slow him down. This fueled his passion for helping other children that were born with similar issues. Billy Joe "Bill" Knox Jr. age of 70, of Mineral Wells, TX passed away Friday, December 1, 2023 in Weatherford, TX. Bill was born May 25, 1953 in Crockett to parents, Billy Joe Knox Sr. and Peggy Franklin Knox. He was a 1972 graduate of Carroll High School in Southlake, TX where he excelled in football & boasted on starting "The Tradition". Bill attended Ranger Junior College on a football scholarship, then traded in his helmet for his cowboy hat at Tarleton State University where he was on the rodeo team, competing in calf roping & steer wrestling. Many of his closest friends were made in those days. Bill was a true entrepreneur. He started & owned companies within the oilfield industry. He then started a successful custom western furniture business and traveled throughout the United States selling his personality & craftmanship. The two daughters he was blessed with were his proudest accomplishments. Bill truly never met a stranger. He loved to two-step, had a boisterous personality, was a horseman, always willing to lend a helping hand & could play a mean hand of cards. Bill was always ready to tell a good story or share memories with friends. His latest venture was being a grandfather & he took his role as "Pops" very seriously. Bill is survived by daughters, Hayley Worstell and husband, Matt of Dallas, Kady Knox and fiance, Conner Murphree of Ft. Worth; granddaughters, Parker and Emery Worstell of Dallas; father, Billy Joe Knox and wife, Sherry of Crockett; sister, Terrie Hays and husband, Mike of Graford; sister-in-law, LaDonna Knox of DeKalb; numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. He was preceded in death by mother, Peggy Knox; brother, Bob Knox; nephew, Cooper Hays. Graveside funeral services for Bill Knox will be held at 2:00 p. m. Franklin (Frank) Davis passed away on November 4, 2023 at the age of 89 in Willow Park, TX. Frank was born on November 28, 1933 in Hedley, TX to the late O. B. Davis, Sr and Gertrude Watson Davis. Frank met the love of his life, Barbara Millslagle in 1954 in Denver, Colorado. They would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary this coming December. They moved their family back and forth between Colorado and Texas before finally making their home in Millsap, TX in 1968. Frank was a long time fixture in the Millsap community, always helping anyone that he could. You could always find him at the local gas station enjoying his morning coffee or afternoon iced tea and catching up on the local news with his friends. Frank was a jack of all trades and held many jobs over the years and finally retired from the Weatherford College Mineral Wells Campus maintenance department. Frank's favorite hobby was being on his lawn mower mowing the grass. The joke always was that if Frank's grass was taller than a quarter inch then you better check on him because there was something wrong. But Frank's greatest pride and joy was his family and his friends that soon became family along the way. Frank is survived by his wife, Barbara Davis of Millsap, TX. His daughters Kathy Ortiz of Millsap and Debbie Spurgeon (Robert) of Cleburne. He is also survived by his five grandchildren Elisa Reveles (John), Franco Oritz (Jamie), Laura Diduch (Scott), Brenda Spurgeon, Robbie Spurgeon (Aimee) and adopted grandchildren Leanna and Chad Davis. Frank has nine great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren that he is survived by. Frank is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Dewey Davis, Odell Davis, O. B. Davis Jr, Clifford Davis, Virgil Davis, Winfred Davis, Fred Davis, Billy Davis, Sr and sister Bonnie Rhoades. Frank is also predeceased by his son-in-law, Bernardo Ortiz. A memorial service will be held on November 11, 2023 at 2pm at Baum Carlock Baumgardner Funeral Home.Show more

Kathleen Amber Hosford Sarver passed peacefully in her home on November 4, 2023. She was born in Miami, Florida on January 23, 1967. She grew up in Mineral Wells, Texas where she also graduated high school at Mineral Wells High School, Class of 1985. Her dream was to become a psychologist. She ended up attending Florida Institute of Technology where she earned her bachelors degree in forensic psychology. She married the love of her life Kevin Christopher Sarver at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on May 26, 1990. Amber also had a profound love for the beach, football, true crime stories, and her customers that she adored at H&R Block where she was employed as office manager. But most of all, she loved her family and friends, especially her daughters and grandchildren. Amber was preceded in death by her father Kermit Hosford of Mineral Wells. Survivors include her husband: Kevin Christopher Sarver of Mineral Wells, daughters and grandchildren: Rachel Martin and children Aubrey and Braden Martin of Euless, TX, Kayla Sarver of Fort Worth, and Madison Sarver and partner Sergio Avila and children: Sereniti and Aurelia Avila of Mineral Wells, brother and sister-in-law: John and Sara Hosford and nephew: Kyle Hosford of Allen, TX, and her mother: Cathie Hosford of Mineral Wells, TX. The rosary and visitation is 6 PM Wednesday, November 8, 2023 in the Chapel. Mass is 10 AM Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
