Barbara Barnett ObituaryBarbara Barnett of Wylie, Texas, born May of 1945 passed from the living Wed, Sept 27, 2023, at the age of 78. She was a highly intelligent and well-read woman, who was known for her generosity, competitiveness and independent spirit. Barbara is survived by her husband (of 59 years) Jerry, daughter Karen, and grandchildren Delinda, Jeremy, Cassandra, and John. She is also survived by 5 siblings, Lela Butler, Ronny White, Alan White (wife Patty) Paul White (wife Glenda), Charlotte Johnson, and 7 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brother Steve White and 2 great-grandchildren. Barbara attended school in her home town of Van, Texas. She furthered her education at community colleges and finished with her bachelor degree at UTD, while working full time and raising a family. Working at various companies in accounting before joining NTMWD, she eventually retired as accounting supervisor. Barbara had various hobbies including gardening, road trips, photography, reading, number and word puzzles and actively participating in political and social causes. She especially enjoyed beating her husband at Wordle. There will be no funeral. To honor her memory, there will be a Celebration of Barbara's Life held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that in her memory a kindness for someone in need be done. Barbara will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. May she rest in God's loving hands. "Joanne Marie Kiefer passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, in Wylie, Texas, at home surrounded by her family. Joanne was born on October 11, 1939, at home in Dubuque, Iowa, to Joseph J. and Helen A. (Ehrlich) Blasen. Joanne was born the 6th of 10 children. She graduated from St. Columbkille's High School in 1958 as the prom queen. She worked at Trauch Bakery in Dubuque, Saint Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, owned Viking Lounge and Steakhouse in Cedar Rapids, and retired at Medical City Hospital in Dallas. Joanne married her high school sweetheart in Dubuque, Iowa. They raised their five children in Iowa, Illinois, and Texas. She was a kind, strong, caring woman who loved her family and loved watching sports, especially the Green Bay Packers, the St. Louis Cardinals \u0026amp; the Iowa Hawkeyes. She loved getting together with her large extended family in Texas and Iowa. She will be missed by all. Joanne is survived by her ex-husband, Bob Kiefer, and their five children: Dan (Lilia) Kiefer, Scott Kiefer, Bobby (Becky) Kiefer, Kris (Warren) Kiefer, and Craig (Laura) Kiefer; her grandchildren: Cole (Taylor) and Caleb Kiefer and Lindsay McAllister and Emily (Rob) Minoff and Catie (Greg) Hansen; Kortney and Blake Kiefer; Tyler (Shara) and Bo Kiefer and Madison (Chase) Matthews; Britney (Jeff) Selph; and Jordan, Holly, and Rachel Kiefer; her great-grandchildren: Addilyn, Emma, and Lyla Kiefer; Olivia and Calvin Kiefer; Kaya Kiefer; Cooper Matthews; and Jaxon, Huxley, and Lexi Selph. She is also survived by her siblings: Richard F. (Kathleen) Blasen, Linda (Bob) Kunkel, Kathy (Irv) Behnke, and Michael Blasen, all of Dubuque; her in-laws: Carl Anglin and Barb Blasen of Dubuque and Doug Helbing of Mandan, ND; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Luane Anglin, Mary Lou Weeks, Joseph M. (Joan) Blasen, William Blasen, and Janet Helbing.
