Born and raised in Mayfield, Kentucky, Babs raised her daughters in the Portage Lakes area of Akron, Ohio, volunteering countless hours with the local schools, working to pass levies, and the youth sports organizations, before moving to Richland, Washington after her daughters graduated high school. About ten years ago, Babs then moved to Tampa, Florida, where she became the self-proclaimed "mayor" of Stilton Street. Babs is survived by her daughters, Haley Maple (husband Joel Ewusiak) and Jessica Pownall (husband Jason Jones), the grandchildren she adored Logan, Owen, and Aubrey, Harold "Bud" Maple, and her mother, Janice Ballard, her sisters and many cousins, nieces and nephews, her rescue dog Dolly, and "the boys" of Coventry High. Babs is preceded in death by her father, Henry Ballard, and her dog, Frannie.
