The sixth of ten children to Eduardo and Josefa Lucio, Jesus "Jesse" Lucio, was born on September 3, 1952, in Brownsville, Texas. Born at 12:30 in the morning he weighed in at 8 pounds, 10 ounces and 22 inches long. Jesse was the heaviest and biggest baby born to Eduardo and Josefa Lucio. Jesse Lucio started his Golf Pro days in 1981, working part time at the Brownsville Country Club. In 1998 he started his head coaching career at the University of Texas Brownsville/ Texas Southmost College until 2004. From 2006 to 2012 he worked for the First Tee of Greater Brownsville as one of the coaches. On July 5th, 1996, Jesse Lucio married the love of his life Ada Ramirez. He and his beautiful wife, Ada Ramirez, whom he met while in Brownsville, Texas, would raise their four children, Jessica Lucio Marren, Jaqueline Lucio Stromquist, Anthony Lucio and Julie Lucio. A marriage built on love and a deep abiding commitment to one another, Jesse and Ada maintained a relationship that stood the test of time, celebrating 27 years of life together. The consistent model of service was important to Jesse, and it began, always, with faith in the Creator. Through his abiding love for the Father, and earnest relationship with Jesus Christ, Jesse showed his family The Way. His faith began within and then spread to his children, and to others in the communities in which he lived. People knew Jesse to be a man of trust in God, grace to extend second chances, and help when help was needed. If anyone could be depended on in times of trouble, it was Jesse Lucio. He was known as one who did good quietly, honored his word, leaned on God for wisdom and guidance, and sought to make life better for others in and outside of his family. He showed people Jesus in the way he lived-simply. After his high school teaching days, Jesse worked with Sunny Glen where he recently obtained a new promotion acting as the Assistant Principal for them. Jesse enjoyed many things in life from Fishing, Golfing and Hunting he loved them all. A lover of the outdoors, he spent many of his days on the boat fishing outdoors. Mornings on the golf course, the scent of freshly cut grass, and the mesmerizing path of a golf ball in the dew were moments he cherished. His time on the boat, gazing at the water and sharing sunsets, became treasured memories. His passion for weather, the moon, and stars created countless conversations. Jesse, a soul who felt music to his core. Sitting in the car, lingering just to savor the final notes of a good song. His deep and profound connection to music became a cherished part of his life. Football, especially the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns, held a special place in his heart. Weekly talks about Longhorn games were moments of connection and camaraderie. Releasing Jesse to death was not easy to the many that loved him dearly. He was the sort of man that one might think should live forever. As we ponder this thought, Death loses its sting when one knows what comes next. Jesse knew, as do his family and friends, that to be absent from his earthly body is to be present with Christ. And that is where he is today-completely healed and in glory. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents years ago and, his brother Joe, whose passing broke his heart. If there is a fishing hole or golf course in heaven, Jesse is already teaching him how to fish and golf or eating Dill Pickels. Those of us who are left to carry on Jesse's legacy of service and friendship include his wife, Ada; son Anthony; daughter, Jessica, Jaqueline, and Julie. Brothers Eddie, David, Bobby, and Ricky. Sisters, Bea, Bertha, Helen, and Maggie. As well seven grandchildren each of whom filled his days with joy, the cherry on top to a wonderful life; nieces and nephews too numerous to mention, but all who loved and respected Tio Jesse. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the many that have extended love and prayer during our season of loss. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. " Ephesians 3:13-19 In Lieu of flowers the family respectfully asks that you contribute to the Immaculate Conception Cathedral for upkeeping for historical facility. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p. m. Mass of resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a. m. at Immaculate Conception Cathedral Catholic Church. Services will conclude at the end of Mass.
