It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Carmela, affectionately known as Maria D. Vela to some, a remarkable woman whose journey through life was marked by resilience, love, and selflessness. Carmela's early years were dedicated to her role as a housekeeper, a job she undertook for many decades, not merely as a means of livelihood but as a commitment to provide for her family. Her life was a canvas painted with her passions - cooking, which she did with unparalleled skill and love, dancing, which saw her light up any room with joy, and a profound love for music that resonated deep within her soul. These passions were not just hobbies; they were the very essence of Carmela's vibrant personality. Carmela's life was a series of commendable achievements. Despite the demanding nature of her work and the additional odd jobs she undertook, she managed to build her own home. This feat stands as a monument to her independence, fortitude, and unyielding determination. Her role as a single mother was carried out with utmost devotion. Carmela raised her son instilling values of morality and integrity, shaping him into a person of character and strength. She provided for her mother, son, and as many other family members as she could, showcasing a heart that was always open and hands that were ever willing to help.
