Audrey Myers Obituary

Audrey Louise Register Myers passed away peacefully at home on May 4th, 2023. Audrey was born October 25, 1923 in Wilmington, NC to Daniel and Gaynell Register. She worked for the ACL railroad where she met her husband of 57 years, Charles "Wilbur" Myers. They relocated with the railroad to Jacksonville, FL in 1960. She was very active in her church, Arlington United Methodist; Audrey volunteered in the office as well as playing piano for her Sunday School class. She was accomplished at sewing, crocheting, knitting, and cooking. Her children and grandchildren all have a copy of the prized "Grandmommy recipe book" with favorites of her recipes. Audrey was 99 years old and was known as "GG" to her great-grandchildren and her many family friends. She was an ace at games including Scrabble, bridge, and hand and foot - which she frequently won. Audrey is preceded in death by her parents: Daniel and Gaynell Register; her husband, Charles "Wilbur" Myers; sister, Marie Register; grandson, Daniel Myers (survived by Kathi Myers); and great-grandson, Timothy Myers. She is survived by her children: Charles Daniel (Peggy Hufham) Myers and Linda Myers Herrera; grandchildren: Rachael Herrera-West, Michelle (Jeff) Brannen, Heidi (Randy) Fitzgerald, Brian (Nicole) Myers, Christina (Tim) Rhoden, and Wendy (Jonathan) Delfosse; great-grandchildren: Jason Fitzgerald, Justin Roberts, Rebecca Roberts, Rebecca Myers, Thomas Fitzgerald, Cameron Rhoden, Anastasia Brannen, Riley Rhoden, Chase Myers, and Siena Myers. Visitation will be at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home in Jacksonville, FL Tuesday May 9, 2023 at [time]. Funeral will be at Arlington United Methodist Church, Wednesday May 10 at [time]. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Community Hospice. A visitation for Audrey will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225. A funeral ceremony will be held in her honor on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 10:00 AM Arlington United Methodist Church, 1400 University Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32211. A committal service will follow the funeral ceremony at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
