In loving memory of Elmer and Janie Bagwell of Fosters, AL. A remarkable couple whose love transcended time. Elmer and Janie departed this world just 5 days apart, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion that will endure for generations to come. Elmer passed away peacefully on February 13th, 2024, at Glen Haven in Northport, AL. Janie shortly followed him, passing peacefully at their home in the early hours of February 18th, 2024. Elmer was Born January 11th, 1945. He Served 6 years in the US National guard under the 167th infantry. He went on to work for B.F. Goodrich until he retired. He was known as a quiet, kind man with a big heart who loved to fish; as well as a devoted, loving husband to Janie. Janie was born February 19th, 1948. She spent many years working for the University of Alabama but went on to work for Skyland Oaks retirement home until she retired. It was there she touched many lives and made many close friends that she kept throughout her life. She was known for her caring spirit, lively sense of humor, and dedication to those she loved. Married for over 50 years, anyone could tell you that these two were simply made for each other, oftentimes being referred to as “attached at the hip”. Their love was not only bound by earthly ties, but also by their shared faith. They found strength and solace together in their Christian beliefs, which helped to guide them through life’s joys and challenges. Janie and Elmer also shared a love for camping and the serene beauty of the lake. This love of the outdoors was not only a reflection of their appreciation for the wonders of creation, but also a testament to their belief in the presence of God in all things While they were never blessed with children of their own, Janie and Elmer’s devotion to their family was abundant, pouring their hearts into helping raise their nephews Alan and Doug, seeing them as their own sons. As Janie and Elmer reunite in eternal peace, their legacy of love, faith, and devotion continues to inspire all who came to know them. The impact on everyone who had the joy of calling them friends or family is truly evident. May their life and love story serve as a guiding light to those who follow them.
