Aubrey Lewis, 82, passed away on Thursday, August 24th at his home with the love of his life and wife of 62 years, Myrna by his side. Aubrey was commonly referred to as his CB radio handle "Bird Shooter" around the Oak Level Community due to his love for hunting quail and running dogs. He retired from ABB (formerly Westinghouse) where he worked as a coil winder for over 30 years. Aubrey was a member of Arbor Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed the fellowship and friendships he made as a lifetime member of the Vernon Hill Hunting Club. He loved working in the garden, riding his tractor, and woodworking. When Aubrey wasn’t outside, he enjoyed sitting in his recliner and watching his favorite programs such as Gunsmoke, Cops, and Tom and Jerry with a big bowl of ice cream. Aubrey loved his family and was a friend to everyone. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Oak Level Fire Department for their exceptional care and compassion. The family also would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to AJ & Barbara Price, Hank & Jennifer Crenshaw, Tammy & Jimmy Doss, Steve & Deborah Donivan, Ann Moser, and Rita McKinney for their kindness and support shown during this difficult time. Easton Link and Cohen Link Daughter, Donna McKinney (Johnny) and their family, Molly Campbell, Johnny McKinney (Morgan) and Jared (Maria). Finley Campbell and Wade McKinney Sisters, Martha Terry and Betty Jean Loftis He is preceded in death by his parents Earl Lynwood Lewis and Virgie Satterfield Lewis. Great Grandchildren, Mason Ferguson and Eliza Ferguson Siblings, Herman Lewis, Lynwood Lewis, Emmitt Lewis, Warner Lewis, Addison Lewis, Vernie Price, and Laura Millhiser. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at 2:00 P. M. at Arbor Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Wayne Adams Fuller, 80, of South Boston, VA, died peacefully at his home on December 5, 2023. Mr. Fuller was born in South Boston, VA to the late Rawley H. Fuller, Jr. and Dorothy A. Fuller on July 3, 1943. Mr. Fuller attended the University of Richmond where he was a proud member of Theta Chi fraternity and graduated from VCU. After returning to South Boston, Wayne joined the Army Reserve Special Forces Unit in Richmond, VA and completed Jump School in Ft. Benning, GA and Survival School in Fort Bragg, NC, earning his Green Beret. Mr. Fuller was the owner of Fuller’s Inc and W. A. Fuller Menswear where he began his career delivering packages on his bicycle. His love and support of downtown continued throughout his life. He was an active member of Rotary and Destination Downtown South Boston He enjoyed playing golf, tennis, running, and working with community events. Wayne was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where he served as a member of the Vestry, Junior Warden, and Superintendent of Sunday School. He is survived by his wife, Janet Taylor Fuller; one brother, Rawley H. Fuller, III (Sandra); his daughters Sarah Paige Fuller (Mary Aab) and Leigh Fuller Edwards (Reed); and his granddaughter, Maelyn Grace Edwards. Shirley Andrew Womack, Sr. , 84 of South Boston, VA passed away on December 2, 2023. He was born in Halifax County on November 8, 1939 to the late Clarence Littleton Womack and the late Grace Darling Barksdale Womack. He was married to Shelba Arthur Womack who survives. He was a member of South Boston Church of God. Shirley served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Fluor Daniel as an insulator for 20 years and loved carpentry work. He truly was a "jack of all trades". Shirley was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He especially loved birds and raised Quail and Dove, along with many other animals. However, his greatest love was that of his family and will be missed greatly. Left to cherish his memory are: His beloved wife of 62 years Shelba A. Mrs. Nancy Faye Luke Moore of South Boston, VA passed away Friday, December 1, 2023, in Richmond, VA. She was born May 31, 1947, to the late James Pierce Luke and the late Martha Leona Hayes Luke. Nancy was a member of Kentuck Baptist Church. She was an avid bowler, which led to her joining the Golden Seniors Bowling League where she gathered with friends on Wednesdays to enjoy games. Nancy cherished spending time with her family and succeeded in making them the center of her world. Mrs. Moore was a truly remarkable person and will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and community. Mrs. Nancy L. Sister Margaret Therese Marie O. Carm. who passed away unexpectedly at Marian Manor, South Boston, on November 30, 2023, in the 65th year of her religious life. Margaret Mary Jackson was born on April 16, 1940, in South Boston, MA, to Michael and Margaret (nee Noonan) Jackson. Both parents hailed from Co. Waterford in Ireland. Sr. Margaret is survived by her sister, Noreen Begin; nieces, Lori (Jeff) Fernald, Meg (Stephen) Bean, Julie (John) Wiggin; and nephew, Robert (Kely) Begin, as well as many grandnieces and grandnephews. Having entered the Congregation on September 7, 1958, Sr. Margaret Therese professed First Vowson June 9, 1961, and made Perpetual Profession on April 16, 1966. She trained as an L. P. N. andearned a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration from St. Francis College. She held nursing andadministrative positions in several of her Missions, including Homes in Detroit, New Hampshire, NewYork, and Massachusetts, and was also commissioned as a Notary Public. Sr. Margaret's finalObedience was to Marian Manor where she served since March 15, 2003, as Development Directorand Resident Advocate. Having an outgoing personality and a wonderful sense of humor, Sr. Margaret endeared herself toher family, her Carmelite Sisters, the residents, and the staff with whom she served. She will begreatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. We thank her for her 65 years of faithfulness tothe God who called her into Carmel, and for the blessing she has been to all of us.
