God called Attilio peacefully on September 11, 2023, at the age of 92. Attilio was born in Pacentro, L’Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy on April 28, 1931. He later emigrated to Canada in 1957 and lived in Sudbury for 48 years where he raised his family and worked as an industrial mechanic at the International Nickel Company (INCO) for over 30 years. He will be forever missed by his loving wife, Lina. Cherished by his dear children, Michelina, and Sandra (Stephan). In 2005 he and Lina moved to Woodbridge to be closer to their children. He is reunited in heaven with his parents (Pasquale & Michelina Battaglini), his siblings Paolo, Francesco, Giuseppe, Vera, Lisetta, and Argentina. He will always be remembered by his brother Celestino and sister Violetta. Attilio will be held dear in the hearts of his nieces, nephews, family, relatives, and many friends. If so desired, donations in memory of Attilio may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Hospice Vaughan. Visitation will take place at the Vescio Funeral Home Woodbridge Chapel (8101 Weston Rd. 905-850-3332) on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 4-8 p. m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 11:00 a. m. at St. Padre Pio Parish. (5500 Major Mackenzie Dr. , west of Islington Ave. ).
