Arvella Lenora Doty, 91, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away Monday, September 11, 2023, at the Rector Nursing and Rehab Center in Rector, Arkansas, surrounded by her family. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023, beginning at 2:30 p. m. at Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, with Bro. Gary Hancock and Bro. Matthew Collier officiating. Burial will follow the service at Cummins Chapel Cemetery near Pollard, Arkansas. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home beginning at 1:30 p. m. until service time. A complete obituary will be posted at a later time.

Emma Lee Oliver, 91, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away November 25, 2023, at Rector Nursing and Rehab in Rector, Arkansas. She was born on January 26, 1932, in Clay County, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Jake and Mayme (Jenkins) Halter. Emma was united in marriage to Kenneth Oliver on December 1, 1948, and he preceded her in death on August 12, 2005. To this union, three children were born. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in Paragould, Arkansas, on September 9, 1961. She truly enjoyed helping others learn about her God, Jehovah, his son Jesus Christ, and the Good News of God's Kingdom. Emma worked at home and on the family farm. Later, she worked several years at Emerson Electric in Kennett, Missouri. Then she became a LPN and worked until retirement at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Piggott. She also worked for a time, after retirement, at Rector Nursing and Rehab. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jewel Leonard and her brother, B. J. Halter. Emma is survived by her children, Sherrine (Paul) Simmons of Steele, Missouri; Steven (JoAnn) Oliver of Piggott, Arkansas, and Doretta Locascio of Kennett, Missouri; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be held Sunday, December 3, 2023, at 4:00 p. m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Hwy 49 in Paragould, Arkansas, with Larry Hampton officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. James F. Crittenden, 82, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away November 15, 2023, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Arkansas. He was born on January 13, 1941, and was the son of the late Emmett and Opal (Trout) Crittenden. Jim was united in marriage to Carol Roberts and to this union two sons were born, Keith Crittenden and Tony Crittenden. He later married Robin Causey and gained a stepdaughter, Heather Holifield. On March 24, 2006, he married Gloria Calhoun and gained three more stepdaughters, Lori Parker, Elizabeth Shaw and Kayli Rowe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Reams; five brother-in-laws; and his in-laws, James and Bonnie Calhoun. Jim leaves behind his wife of eighteen years, Gloria Crittenden; two sons, Keith (Karen) Crittenden of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Tony (Ashleigh) Crittenden of Piggott, Arkansas; four daughters, Heather Holifield, Lori (Shawn) Parker of Piggott, Arkansas, Elizabeth Shaw of Piggott, Arkansas, and Kayli (Zac) Rowe of Pocahontas, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren, Tyler (Brandy) Crittenden of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Brooke (Eric) Clayton of Rector, Arkansas, Cody Crittenden of Piggott, Arkansas, Hunter (Makayla) Strickland of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Katy (Chris) Yancy of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Jillian (Daryn) Hickson of Piggott, Arkansas, Michael (Mycah) Parker of Piggott, Arkansas, Joshua (Janna) Poe of Piggott, Arkansas, Kristen (Brian) Erwin of Piggott, Arkansas, Emily (Kenneth) Blackmon of Greenway, Arkansas, and Connor, Sawyer, and Asher Rowe of Pocahontas, Arkansas; sister, Joy (Roy) Stender of Piggott, Arkansas; 13 great-grandchildren; several sister and brothers-in-laws; two best buddy's - Hal French and Gayle Garver; and many other relatives and friends - too many to count. Almarita McGlown, 86, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away from pneumonia November 5, 2023, at Piggott Community Hospital. She was surrounded by family as she was reunited with Jesus and her loved ones that have passed on. She was born on May 28, 1937, in Piggott, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Charles Wilbur and Nora Belva (Borden) McGlown, who married in 1932. In 1939, she lost her mother 3 days after her brother Homer was born. She would be the only child to this union that would live past one birthday. Almarita's father then married Ruth Lila Busby in 1941. Almarita was a unique person. She was known for her phenomenal memory and her family called her the family historian because she could tell you the day everyone was born and the weather or what else was happening on that day. She enjoyed flea markets and sewing. She sent dolls with clothes she made to Ukraine and several of her family enjoyed the clothes she made for their dolls. She was a faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church. She loved her church family and most of all her Savior Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Homer Dewane; and two sisters, Nellie Arverzine and Etta Elizabeth. She is survived by her sister Brenda (Macky) Moore; niece, Amy (Paul) Mross; guardian and second cousin, Linda Elkins; and a whole host of second cousins, consisting of five generations who all loved her. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 12:00 pm at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Tim McCluskey and Bro. Shelly Elkins officiating. Burial is in Williams Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Her family will serve as pallbearers. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Donald Jefferson Box, 82, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away on September 9, 2023 at Piggott Healthcare & Senior Living in Piggott, Arkansas. He was born on September 19, 1940, in Madera, California, and was the son of the late T. J. (Jake) Box and Ruby Williams Box. Donald was united in marriage on July 14, 1963 to Sheila Ann Tate. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, T. J. (Jake) and Ruby Box, two sisters, Barbara Box, and Janice Psora, and his wife, Sheila Ann Tate Box. He was a graduate of Greenway High School in 1957. He worked for Donald Duck Orange Juice and sold insurance for Life and Casualty in Lake Wales, Florida, and then retired from Emerson Electric in Paragould, Arkansas in 1999. Donald is survived by his children, Brenda Darlene Moore of Piggott, Arkansas, Timothy Wayne Box of Paragould, Arkansas, and Donald Jason Box (Jessica) of Piggott, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Bobby Ray Coyle III of Piggott, Arkansas, Olivia Brooke Box of Piggott, Arkansas, and Zoie Addison Pollock of Piggott, Arkansas; two brothers, Larry (Becky) Box of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, and Ted (Jeanie) Box of Batesville, Arkansas; his sister, Doris Warren of Oklahoma, as well as three bonus daughters, Melissa Moore, Brittany Proctor, and Amber Clement. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with them. He enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, fishing, and watching baseball, old TV sitcoms, and westerns. Jimmie Carl Rogers, 89, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away September 6, 2023, at his home. He was born on May 26, 1934, in Austin Community near Piggott, Arkansas, and was the son of the late Carl and Elsie (Neeley) Rogers. Jim was united in marriage to Sue Graves on January 17, 1959, at to this union three children were born. Sue preceded him in death on June 21, 1992. He later married Martha (Shelby) Vangilder and she also preceded him in death. His son, Mark Rogers preceded him in death. Jim was a member of the Church of Christ. He loved the local farming community and believed there was no better place to live. He enjoyed golf, cards, and catfish. Jim is survived by his two daughters, Pam (Tommy) Suitt of Panama City Beach, Florida, Penny Lee of Panama City, Florida; eight grandchildren: Josh Whatley, Megan Lee, Jimmy Lee, Johnny Lee, Brandon Suitt, Brittany Suitt, Mikayla Suitt, and Peyton Suitt; one great-grandchildren, Emily; longtime companion, Sharon Tillman of Piggott, Arkansas; sister, Carolyn Williams of Jonesboro, Arkansas; brother, Steve Rogers of Phoenix, Arizona; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:00 a. m. at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Kason Lawrence officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Family will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Gossett, Larry McCoy, and Kevin Latimer.
