Arthur Vernier Obituary

Arthur was a United States Army veteran. He owned his own landscaping and excavating company. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Northwest Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years. The volunteer fire department was very special to him, he spent most of his spare time working towards improvements. He was a lifetime member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church. Arthur was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan and enjoyed tending to his yard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Leona, nee Dressel, Vernier; two sisters, Gerry Zollner and Nancy (Robert) Sprinz; and a nephew, Brad Rujawitz. He is survived by his two sisters, Janice Miller, and Bonnie (Rich) Rujawitz; a brother-in-law, Paul Zollner; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, or Northwest Fire Dept. Burial will be Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
