Edelstein - Arthur Alan Smith, 65, of Edelstein, passed away at 5:17 a. m on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Arthur was born on August 13, 1956 in Chicago. He was the son of Harry and Elaine (Knopp) Smith. He married Bonnie Cave on August 16, 1980 in Streator, IL. She preceded him in death on September 8, 2016. He is survived by his brother, John (Terri) Smith of Streator; his sister, Linda Cook of Streator; sister-in-law, Kathy (David) Kaup of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; and sister-in-law, Betty Jo Cave of Grand Ridge. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harry Smith; and sister, Joyce Smith. Arthur previously worked for Coca-Cola, and he most recently worked as a service technician for telecommunications at Telecom Power Systems. He collected vintage Coca-Cola memorabilia and antique toy tractors. Arthur enjoyed going out to the movie theaters and having dinner with his best friend, Allan Millard and John Bonzo. There will be no public services at this time. The family of Arthur would like to give a special Thank You to Mary Russell for helping with Arthur's medical care.
