Woodstock - Arthur H. Godwin, age 53, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday September 6, 2023. Husband of Cathy (Cronin) Godwin. He was born June 21, 1970, in Norway a son of Reginald and Janice (Hall) Godwin, he attended the Telstar High School and went on to earn his master's degree in automotive repair where he worked at Lee Auto in Norway. Arthur loved hunting, enjoyed fishing, gardening, working with wood projects, traveling and cooking; however, he was the happiest when he was with the love of his life and best friend of 36 years, his wife Cathy. He was pre-deceased by his loving parents, Reginald, and Janice Godwin and a niece Erin Godwin. He is survived by his loving family: wife, Cathy, his children; daughter Venessa Bartlett and her husband Logan, His son Colton Godwin and his wife Ashley, his granddaughters Brinley Bartlett, and Isabel Godwin. His two 4 legged best buddies Murray and Mic. His brother Paul Godwin and his wife Diana, his sister-in-law Kelly Cronin, father and mother-in-law Joseph and Martha Cronin. He also leaves behind his 3 nephews Todd Godwin and his wife Jaime, Thomas Godwin and his wife Nichole, and Alex Thibodeau and 2 nieces Jessica Benson and her husband Andrew and Ashley Thibodeau and her fiance Alex. Bridgton - Eileen Adele. (Sullivan) Ellis, age 79 passed away on December 1, 2023, at home with her loving son by her side. She was born April 8, 1944, in Nova Scotia CN, a daughter of Vincent and Eileen (McDonald) Sullivan. She married Robert Ellis on November 27, 1980. She worked in the insurance industry before her retirement, she loved to spend time with family especially her sister June and her late husband Joe Higgins, at the family holidays over Thanksgiving, Christmas and 4th of July. Also spending time with her grandson Keith Roop at his sporting events. going out to dinner with many friends in Bridgton, she enjoyed vacationing and cruises where she made many friends. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Vincent and Eileen Sullivan, her loving husband Robert Ellis, who passed away in July 2023, her bother-in-law Joe Higgins. She leaves to cherish her memory her son George Roop, grandson Keith Roop, Sister June Higgins Sullivan from Concord NH, sister-in-law Barbara Clark, niece Robyn Clark, grandnephew Brooks Clark, and grandniece Nakita Clark. Andrew John Aron, Sr. Andrew John Aron, Sr. passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord at home on November 24, 2023. He was born in Miami, Florida on April 4, 1944. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Leslie Aron, four loving daughters: Norma Jean Morrison (Tom) of Plymouth, NH, Ronda Dasher of Nicholasville, KY, Jude Aron (Russ) of Lexington KY, and Charlotte Coloumbe (Chet) of Wayne, Maine, a brother John (Marie) of Upton, ME and a sister Charlotte David (John, Late) of Pepperell, MA. He cherished and was proud of all of his grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. His final wishes were honored with a Thanksgiving filled with many family members, and he smiled when he saw that the Christmas Tree had been lit. Andy's work included being certified as a Locomotive Engineer. He was employed by the St. Lawrence and Atlantic Railroad in Lewiston-Auburn, Maine. He was never happier than when spending time with family. He also enjoyed visiting one of his former hometowns, Littleton, NH. His favorite past time was his model trains. He spent a great deal of time traveling to train shows and perfecting his O-Gauge train "layout" which was enjoyed by many. His other hobbies included fishing, hunting, and being on the road. He and Leslie would often take trips to Lake George, NY, and Lexington, KY to visit family. Andy was predeceased by his Father Andrew William Aron, his Mother Matilda Aron, only son Andrew John Aron, Jr. and his brother Paul William Aron. "Susan Barbara Rantanen Worster (known lovingly as Mummu by family) made her way home to glory on Monday, November 20, 2023. She was born October 29, 1951 in East Weymouth, Massachusetts. At eight years of age she accepted Christ as her Savior and has followed Him faithfully ever since. She graduated from Silverlake Regional Highschool in Kingston, MA in 1969. She met her husband at Zion Bible Institute in East Providence, RI in 1970. On September 2, 1972 she married Rev. David Worster. Susan is survived by her husband, Rev. David Worster, and their three children, Beth (Dan Buteau), Teresa (Kris Davis), Laura (Aaron Thibault), and son in-law Derick & Matty Mack. As well as 18 grandchildren: Jacob, Michaela, Abigail, Olivia, Kristian, Maria, Noah, Anastasia, Rebekah, Nathaniel, Kamen, Kaylee, Jenna, Emma, Kaleece, Ashley, Alayna, Addie, and three great grandchildren: Willa, Rowan, and Isabella. She also leaves behind two sisters and a brother: Judy Rantanen, Karen (John Worster), and Walter (Teresa) Rantanen. She is predeceased by her mother and father; Lucille and Walter Rantanen, and her daughter Heidi Mack. Susan enjoyed making blankets for newborn babies, she sang alto with her mother, sisters and daughters. She was a member of Fryeburg Assembly of God Church in Fryeburg, Maine. She had a heart for kids being able to attend Christian summer camp, and she often provided funds for many kids to go to camp. She had a love for cooking and feeding her family especially around Thanksgiving. Susan cooked at the Brownfield School, was a Certified Nurse's Aid, and a caregiver. She also assisted her husband in ministry faithfully, but her greatest joy in life was being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a wife. Fred Huntress Jr

Fred Allston Huntress, Jr, age 90, passed away with his daughter and son-in-law at his bedside in theearly morning hours of Nov. 16, 2023 at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn. Fred was born Oct. 2, 1933 at Central Maine General Hospital in Lewiston, Maine andraised in Auburn, ME. He was the elder son of Fred A. Huntress and Mary Stiles Huntress. He graduated from Edward Little High School in 1951 and from the University of Maine in 1955with a BS in Forestry. Fred was employed by Eastern Pulpwood Company out of Calais, ME from June 1955 toJanuary 1956. He served in the Army from February 1956 through December 1957 stationed inpostwar South Korea. Fred married Shirley H. Sanders of St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada in December1955. He began work as a consulting forester with New England Forestry Foundation andworked for them and also New England Forestry Consultants until he retired. He demonstratedvarious skills in his forestry work. He was a licensed forester, land surveyor, real estateappraiser, and real estate broker. He could offer complete forestry services in one location. Inaddition to his work as a consulting forester he started buying and managing his own forestlands. He enjoyed weeding, thinning, pruning, and harvesting his own timber and estimates heplanted more than 50,000 trees. Over the years he spent thousands of hours in his woods. Hispride and joy was the Rattlesnake Mountain lot in Casco and Raymond where he maintainedthe Bri-Mar trail in memory of his children, Brian and Marlene, who passed away in Decemberof 1966. His granddaughter Alexandra is the fourth generation of the Huntress Family to hikethe mountain with him. Of all the trees in the forest, his favorite was the white oak. His interest in this speciesprobably began when he and Brian dug up a small sapling at Rattlesnake Mountain andtransplanted it to their home. In all the millions of board feet of timber he marked for cuttingduring his active years of forestry he never marked a white oak for cutting. For several years heraised white oaks and donated them to the Maine Forest Products Council for their annual fundraising auction. These trees are now growing well outside of their natural range. Fred was active in many branches of government in Poland since he moved there in1961, including the planning board, board of selectmen, board of appeals, conservationcommission, and the trail committee. Fred was the town forester for the Town of Poland from1964 until his death. He was also an active member of the Stanton Bird Club for many years andserved as president for several years. He was instrumental in acquiring land for the bird clubduring his active years. Fred served as president of the Poland Historical Society for severalyears and was a lifetime member. As the license plate BIG TREE on his pickup truck indicated,he was a dedicated advocate of the Maine Register of Big Trees and nominated several speciesduring his forestry career. He found a national record Eastern Larch (Hackmatack) in Jay in1966. Fred was predeceased by his wife Shirley and their two children Brian and Marlene. He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Laurie Huntress, her husband Josh Hounsell, granddaughterAlexandra Hounsell of Hebron and his brother Richard C. Huntress of Auburn. Fred would like to thank his mother for teaching him about trees and birds and flowers, hisfather for taking him hunting and fishing, his wife for putting up with him for 55 years, andLaurie, Josh, and Alexandra for giving him hope for the future of his family. The family would like to thank Elite Home Care of Buckfield and Androscoggin Homecareand Hospice for exceptional care the past four months. Mary 'Marie' T. Salmonson, 84, of Poland, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2023 at the Androscoggin Hospice House surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Marie was born to Salvatore and Concetta (Benenati) Gamarro in Newark, N. J. on June 28, 1939. She went to Barringer High school in Newark. She married the love of her life, Michael Salmonson, on September 13, 1959. A quiet and unassuming person, Marie devoted herself to family. She loved and cared for her husband and her two sons, Richard and Gary, as a homemaker. She cherished spending time with her family and passing on her faith as well as her Italian traditions. She had a passion for cooking many Italian dishes for her loved ones. In her leisure time she liked watching Catholic Mass, reading, watching baseball - especially the Red Sox, doing word searches and spending time in the Bible. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Michael Salmonson, her parents, her brother Salvatore Gamarro, and her sister-in-law Valerie Warner. Marie will be forever remembered and loved by her children and grandchildren. She leaves behind her two sons; Richard M. and his wife Julia of Poland, Maine; Gary J. and his wife Sarah of Marlton, N. J. ; her grandson Sean of Fort Meyers, Florida; her granddaughter Colleen of Edison, N. J. ; her grandson James of Poland, Maine; and beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. Family and friends may gather at a graveside service on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11 am at Highland Cemetery on Megquier Hill in Poland. A reception for the celebration of her life will immediately follow at Tripp Lake Camp at 132 Tripp Lake Camp Road in Poland. The family wishes to thank the care providers of the Androscoggin Hospice House for the compassionate care they provided to Marie during her stay there. Sharon L. Wilson-CoxNorway, MESharon Wilson-Cox ended her battle with cancer on September 23rd. She was born to George and Ada (Carrier) Libby on May 12th, 1952. She graduated Oxford Hills High School in 1972. She worked for the Community Concepts Head Start Program for 45 years. She was happy to have worked with so many wonderful people who became friends and very honored and privileged to help so many of the families she worked with over the years. Sharon loved traveling to Disney with Richard, her loving husband of 33 wonderful years and taking local trips with her granddaughter Ashlee. Sharon loved all animals, especially Springer Spaniels, Golden Retrievers, and Siamese cats. She wanted to share her love for her beloved son Sean Wilson of Lewiston, who called her daily and remained by her side, helping her with his trademark strength. She also wanted to thank and send her love to Laura Tyler for all her help throughout her sickness. Sharon had many friends she wanted to thank and send her love to for their lifelong friendship; Diane Gammon of North Norway and Donita St. John of South Paris, as well as her caregiver and friend Abby Sayen of West Paris; and close friends Jenn and Corey Sumner of South Paris. Sharon is survived by her husband Richard of Norway, her son Sean Wilson and his fiance Sherry Ann Michaud of Lewiston, her grandchildren, Ashlee Wilson of Bath, Caden Wilson, Reagan Wilson, and Kennedy Wilson of South Paris; her stepdaughter Laura Tyler and her husband Quentin of East Bethel, their daughter Kalinda of Sidney, stepdaughter Lisa Wheatly of Missoula, MT, her daughters and granddaughter; her sister in law Cindy Libby of Oxford, nephew Corey Libby of Oxford, and niece Rene Vallee of Oxford; as well as a great-niece and several great-nephews. Sharon was predeceased by her parents George and Ada Libby, and most recently her younger brother Robert Libby. Rosemarie Sands, age 87, of Mechanic Falls, Maine passed away peacefully on Friday, September 15, 2023. Rosemarie was born on March 27, 1936, a daughter to Edna and Emile Cyr. She born in Van Buren and attended Lewiston schools, graduating at 17 years old. She met the love of her life, John Sands while at a dance at the Le Montagnard in Lewiston. They were married in 1959. In her working years, Rosemarie spent time working for Hoods Dairy, the State of Maine in Augusta and Harriman Associates. She was a wonderful cook and baker, and loved being "Gram". She loved doing puzzles, various crafts, and enjoyed reading. Rosemarie is predeceased by her parents, her loving husband John, her brothers Leland and Rocky Cyr and sister-in-law Geraldine Cyr. She leaves behind her children Gregory Sands and wife Kim, Brenda Whiting and husband Mark and Patrick Sands and wife Pennie. She also leaves behind her four grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha, Shawn and Sara, as well as a great granddaughter Charli. She also leaves behind her brothers Ronald Cyr, Reno Cyr and wife Claire, brother Normand and wife Maryse and sister-in-law Connie Cyr. Lastly, many nieces and nephews. Greene- Dwight Orland Harris, age 82, passed away on Tuesday September 12, 2023, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born February 9, 1941, in Lewiston, a son of the late Charles and Doris (Newton) Harris. He attended the local school and then worked as a carpenter and then a much-loved bus drive for SAD52, for 48 years. He married the love of his life Carol Ann Fish, and they were married for 54 years. He loved to work with wood and his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He was the only family member to love the NY YankeesHe was predeceased by his loving parents, Charles and Doris, Harris, son Dale Harris, his brothers Wendall, Charles, and Dana Harris, and his son-in-law David GuedryHe is survived by his loving wife Carol Ann (Fish) Harris, his 4-legged friend Zoey who was considered his child.
