Warren – Florence M. Prokop, 82, of Warren passed away on Tuesday morning, February 20, 2024 at Warren Nursing & Rehab with her loving family by her side. Florence was born on July 12, 1941 in Warren, a daughter of Ewalt and Virginia (Paul) Santone. Florence was a 1959 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Warren. Besides being a proud homemaker, Florence also worked for many years in data input for the Catholic Charities Regional Agency on Warren, OH. Florence was an avid sports fans, faithfully cheering on the Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Most notably, she was known for creating beautiful quilts for family and friends. Florence cherished the time she spent with her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Florence will always be remembered by her sons, Michael (Aliza) Prokop of Vienna, Bebo (Gayle) Prokop of Wellington, KY and David (Laura) Prokop of Howland; grandchildren, Kelly (Stephen) Procopio and Alex and Jacob Prokop; dear sister, Maria Carson of Howland and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Theordore “Dave” Prokop, whom she married in 1963. Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Florence on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 2 to 4pm at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel of Warren, 1884 North Road NE. Albert A. Shields, 77, of Warren, OH passed away Monday, February 19, 2024, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center. He was born May 16, 1946, in Warren, OH, the son of the late Patrick M. Shields and Grace M. (Yeakich) Shields. Albert was retired from General Motors after 32 years of service and then worked at Advanced Auto Parts for an additional 12 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served from August 30, 1963, through October 25, 1966 and received the National Defense Service Medal Expert (Rifle). Albert enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and sports.He is survived by his wife, Nancy Shields of Warren, OH, whom he married March 16, 1968; son, Robert (Waneta) Taylor of Warren, OH; brothers, Patrick "Mike" Shields and David Shields; grandchildren, James (Mel), Danté, Troy, Ashley, Julie (Shane), and Zach; special nieces, Gigi and Donna; special nephew, Jack , Jr.; two great-nephews; one great-niece; and grand doggie Girly. Ila Jean Workman, 83, of Warren, OH passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, February 18, 2024. She was born September 12, 1940, in Warren, OH, the daughter of the late Howard Trowbridge and the late Mary (Whitten) Dunkerley.Ila was a graduate of Howland High School and a longtime member of Howland Community Church.Ila married the late Carl Workman on May 1, 1981. She was a homemaker and a phenomenal baker especially her pies. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee with her best friend Rose Wainwright, was a longtime Nascar fan of #24, enjoyed baseball, bingo, and the casino. She is survived by her very close sister, Patty Elser of Warren; nephews, Jay (Kathy) Trowbridge of Cortland, Kurtis Elser of Lordstown, and Joseph "Marty" Elser of Warren; nieces, Jackie (Dan) Weaver of Hubbard and Tina (Dave) Goodman of Niles along with several great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Burt Trowbridge; nephew, Phillip (Butch) Elser and niece, Donna Trowbridge.Special thanks to Buckeye Hospice, nurses, Brenda and Kay and aides, Raisa and Tori along with the nurses and aides at Continuing Health Care of Niles. Marcia A. Overholt, 71, of Warren, OH passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital. She was born January 2, 1953, in Steubenville, OH, the daughter of Kenneth M. Sr., and Dorothy (Alden) Overholt. Marcia was a 1971 graduate of Champion High School, and Kent State University with a bachelor's degree in education (language arts and educational media). She earned a master's degree in educational media grades Pre-K -12 along with extensive credit to support the state student online system. She began as an educational media specialist in Warren City Schools at Warren G. Harding High school for seven years and continued at Turner Junior High School for seven years, then Warren Western Reserve for 21 years. She coached girls gymnastics, girls golf, and cheerleading at Warren G. Harding.Marcia enjoyed reading and going south in the summer spending five to six weeks in North Carolina each year. She belonged to Civic Music, Town Hall, Trumbull Retired Teachers, Ohio Retired Teachers, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Alpha Omega Chapter, and was a lifelong member of Champion Christian Church. She is survived by her brother, Ken Overholt and sister-in-law, Betsy; niece, Ashley; and nephew, Michael and his wife, Abey and their son, Johnny. She was preceded in death by her parents.As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service was held.The family requests that material contributions be made to the Trumbull County Dog Pound, in her memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. WARREN – Kathleen Vennetti peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 18th, 2024, surrounded by family at Assumption Village. She was born on August 30th, 1938, the daughter of Patrick and Mary Harrington. Kathleen graduated from St. Mary’s and retired from Warren General. A member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church, she was devoted to her faith. Kathleen will be remembered for her loving and nurturing spirit. She found joy in preparing delicious meals for her family, especially during Sunday dinners and holidays, creating cherished memories. Kathleen is survived by her husband, Ed Vennetti, and their children: Mary Patrnchak (Ray), Beth (Greg) Burrelli, Ed (Kelly) Vennetti, Jeff (Holly) Vennetti, Father Bob Vennetti, Pat (Lisa) Vennetti, John (Rita) Vennetti, Bill (Cassie) Vennetti, Brian (Michele) Vennetti, Mike (Tara) Vennetti, and Joe (Laura) Vennetti. She leaves behind 27 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Peggy Hyden, Paricia Thomas, Elaine Hackstedde, and her brother, Joe Harrington. Ronald James Boggs, 82, of Champion, OH went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2024 at St. Joseph Warren Hospital. He was born May 31, 1941 in Youngstown, OH, a son of the late James Boggs and the late Averta (Grafton) Cannon, he was raised by his late grandparents James and Margaret Boggs. On February 19, 1966 He married the former Jacqueline Kayser, they shared 58 years of marriage and many wonderful memories together.Ronnie retired a Plumber of the Boardman Local 396 after 45 years of service. He was active in his church, and served as a deacon and trustee at the First Community Church of Leavittsburg. Ronnie enjoyed watching sports, particularly the Cleveland Indians and Browns. He coached youth sports in the La Brae sports community with his children, and loved to watch his grandchildren play too. Ronnie played golf, and for the past twenty years liked traveling to Fort Myers, FL for winter.He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Boggs of Champion; son, Greg (Teri) Boggs of Newton Falls; daughter, Ronda (Dan) D'Orio of Summerville, SC; sons, Brent (Amanda) Boggs of Champion and Kurt (Courtney) Boggs of Baltimore, OH; brother, Timothy Boggs; grandchildren, Bayle, Hannah, Christopher, Jacob, Allix, Samantha, Luke, Carter, Avery, Olivia, Julia, Sabrina, Ty, Camille, Zane, Jett and Leo; along with four great grandchildren. Charles ‘Chic’ Francis Fitch, Sr., age 85 of Warren, Ohio, entered eternity with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 15, 2024. Chic was born on December 29, 1938 in Warren, Ohio, the son of Gladys Marie (nee Ormsby) Fitch and Van Fleet Fitch. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and granddaughter Jenna Fitch. He is sadly missed by a loving family: son Charles (Chuck) Fitch, Jr. and daughter-in-law Kelly (Chesmar) Fitch; daughter Connie (Fitch) Houk and son-in law Alan Houk; son Van Fitch and daughter-in-law Patricia (Patton) Fitch. Chic was blessed with, and survived by, many grandchildren: Nathan (Karla) Houk, Andrew (Dana) Houk, Paul (Kate) Houk, Matthew (Shari) Houk, Stephen (Kelsey) Houk, Jessica (Michael) Fitch, Jerrica (Michael) Russo, Cassidy Fitch, Charles Joe Fitch, Daniel (Andrenne) Fitch, David (Kathryn) Fitch, and 19 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Jeannie (Fitch) Meredith of Pittsburgh, PA, and Winifred ‘Winnie’ Fitch of Albuquerque, NM. A 1958 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School, Chic worked for his family’s painting contracting business and later became owner-operator. In the late 1970’s, he worked for the Mahoning Valley Sanitary District as a maintenance painter until his retirement. Chic loved the outdoors, enjoyed hunting with his sons and grandchildren, and woodworking. He was very resourceful and completed many remodeling and construction projects. He was a loving father and supported his children in their future pursuits. A private graveside service will take place at a later date. Patrick Ellis Yoder

JOHNSTON - Patrick “Ellis” Yoder, 91, departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Warren Hospital, following a recent illness.  Ellis was born on November 16, 1932, the second son of Lester and Calena (Jordan) Yoder, in Burton Station, OH.  He was a 1950 graduate of Johnston High School. Ellis was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during Korean War as a mail courier and received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the Korean Service Medal.  He married the former Kathryn (Katie) Wagner on March 3, 1956, and established his family in Johnston Township working as a builder.  He served a term on the Maplewood Board of Education as a Board Member. Ellis was a loyal supporter of Israel traveling there over a dozen times working on missionary trips with various organizations, including Bridges for Peace. He was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and attended Journey Christian Church. He enjoyed spending his spare time gardening, working on his Kubota tractor, cutting wood on his buzz saw, and studying the Hebrew language. He could make anything work from the supplies he had on hand and invented several ingenious creations.Ellis is survived by his wife, Kathryn, of nearly 68 years; 3 sons: Daniel (Pamela) Yoder, Ronald (Eva) Yoder, and Mark (Jo-May) Yoder, all of Johnston Township; a daughter, Rhonda Sue (Dale) Osborn of Kirtland, OH; 2 sisters: Barbara Lutz and Helen Shevel; and a brother, William Yoder.  His legacy lives on through his 10 grandchildren: Joshua (Crystal Springs) Yoder, Tara (Daniel) Gladd, Michael (Marlie) Osborn, Rebecca (Mario) Jimenez, Sarah (Eric) Bader, Daniel (Jamie) Osborn, Elissa (Jordan Fender) Yoder, Kaitlyn (Rogelio) Cantu, Solomon (Kayla) Yoder, and Liza Yoder. He was also blessed with 9 great-grandchildren: Logan, Ryan, Oliver, Benjamin, Alivia, Gavin, Maverick, Cecila, Lena, and another on the way.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Everett Yoder, Robert Yoder, and Pearl Green.In honor of Ellis’s life, calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18th, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home in Warren. Additional calling hours will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19th, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow at Johnston Township cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ellis’s name to Journey Christian Church for the Jerusalem Cornerstone Foundation.
