Serafim Luis Parreira of Tulare, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 21, at the age of 94. Serafim was born on June 24, 1929, in Ribeirinha, Terceira, Acores to Aniceto and Amelia Candida Rocha. The couple married on December 3,1955 and had four daughters. Serafim was active member of the St. Rita's Catholic Church, Tulare Angrense Athletic Club. His highlight was watching the sporting playing soccer on TV, spending many hours in his garden and taking care of his birds and also spending time with family and friends and he loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Serafim is survived by her three daughters Vitalina Mendonca, Ernestine Mattos (Tony), Mary Mendonca (Terry), six grandchildren Mark Martinho, Samantha Bettencourt (Joseph), Michael Martinho, Jeremy Mattos (Nina), Audrianna Lujan, Makayla Mendonca, six great grandchildren Seth, Chad Bettencourt, Blake Youngsma, Mckenna Lujan, Cole Lujan, Owen Mattos and one sister Maria Conceicao Trovao. Along with many nieces and nephews and cousins. He will forever be in our mind and our heart. He preceded in death by his loving wife Vitalina Parreira, parents Aniceto and Amelia, his loving daughter Avelina Parreira, five brothers Aniceto Parreira, Frank Parreira, Antonio Parreira, Jose Parreira, John Parreira. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023, 4:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home, 151 North H Street, Tulare Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, 6:00 p. m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home, 151 North H Street, Tulare Mass of the Resurrection will be Thursday, November 30, 2023, 10:30 a. m. at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 954 South O Street, Tulare, with burial at Tulare District Cemetery.
