Odell Franklin officiating under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home Natchez, MS and Marshall Funeral Home Biloxi, MS. Burial will follow at Rehoboth COGIC Cemetery in Sibley, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Natchez from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. and on Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 1 P. M. until service time at Emmanuel Church of God in Christ. George passed away on February 18, in Chicago, Ill. He was born and raised in Natchez, MS before moving to Chicago. He graduated from North Natchez High School in1983. He enjoyed playing basketball and watching the Dallas Cowboys. "Sabina Szalewska 11/25/33 Died peacefully at her home with her beloved daughter Joanna Szalewski Wozniak, son in law, really son Bartosz Wozniak, and adored grandchildren Mack (Mietus), Gabriela (Gabrysia), and Dominik (Nikus) who kept her young at heart and healthy for her 90 years on this earth. Preceded in death by parents Czeslawa Misiewicz , Zygmunt Misiewicz, sister Radoslawa Wolinksa and her loving husband Mieczyslaw Szalewski. She leaves behind: Daughter Margie Vail, Richard Vail, Madeline Vail Sroka/ Paul Sroka (gr granddaughter Vivian), Kathryn Vail (gr grandsons Jacob, Matthew), Carolyn (gr granddaughter Alyssa), Ashley and Drew, (gr grandmother of Christopher, Abigail, Hannah, Elijah); daughter Joanna (Szalewski) Bartosz Wozniak -Mack, Gabriela, Dominik. Sister Irena Sienko fond aunt to many Sabina was a woman of immense faith and dedication to family and Jesus. She found strength in her faith, especially the rosary and modeled that faith to her children and grandchildren. Sabina was an extraordinary educator for over 50 years both in Poland and in the United States She taught Saturday Polish School at Tadeusz Koszciuszko School of Polish Language for forty years. When she was retired under coercion by the administration at the school it left an unfillable emptiness in her heart to the end. She loved teaching! Sabina loved traveling, especially to Hawaii with her favorite travel partner. She loved spending time with friends at her favorite Polish buffet. She loved gardening, taking care of her plants, and keeping an eye on the neighborhood looking out her favorite window. She loved spending time with family and was happiest when everyone was home safe and sound. She was born on February 19, 1985, to Martin and Rita Stonikas and grew up in Elmhurst where she attended District 205 schools.Laura's zest for life and appreciation for the finer things were infectious. She was a seasoned traveler and fulfilled much her dream of travelling the world, studying abroad, and exploring her Lithuanian heritage by visiting family and cousins there. Her love for Bulldogs extended beyond her cherished companions, Winston and Stella, and she actively participated in Chicago's English Bulldog community. Laura's outgoing personality, warmth, and generosity fostered lasting friendships wherever she went, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew her.Laura pursued ambitious education and career goals. She worked at Chicago’s top companies including Aon Consulting, KPMG Advisory, Northern Trust Bank, CDW, McKinsey & Company, among others. She received her Bachelor of Science from Saint Louis University (Summa Cum Laude) where she participated activities including Delta Gamma Sorority, Alpha Sigma Nu, Omicron Delta Kappa, Student Government Association, and The United Nations Association.
