Arlene J. Nobuta, passed away on October 2, 2023. She was 68 years old. Arlene was born August 12, 1955 to Toyo and Yoneko Nobuta. Arlene is survived by her brother, Lenard. In addition to her parents, Arlene is preceded in death by her husband, Noah Arnold. A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date. Olinger Highland is taking care of cremation arrangements. Kazuko Josephine (nee: Nakayama) Shioji was the eighth and youngest child born to Otomatsu and Tamiye Nakayama on January 7, 1930, in Rocky Ford, Colorado. Jo and her siblings grew up on a farm in Rocky Ford and helped their parents raise cantaloupe and watermelon, along with other various crops. Jo graduated from Rocky Ford High School in 1947 and attended classes to obtain her cosmetology certification. She worked at her sister's beauty salon in Rocky Ford for several years. Jo married Hatsuo Tom Shioji on January 26, 1952, in Ysleta, Texas. Jo and Tom owned a farm in Socorro, Texas where Tom grew mainly Pima cotton. Jo and Tom had four children, Mary Louise, Cathy Ellen, Janet Dee, and David Ross, all born in El Paso, Texas. In 1972, Jo and Tom moved to Wheat Ridge, Colorado due to Jo's respiratory challenges. They purchased a home near one of her sisters. Jo's health improved greatly, and she rejoined the work force in 1977 as her youngest child was graduating from high school. She took on several different jobs until she was hired on with the food service crew; first with Continental Airlines, and then with United Airlines. Jo and Tom enjoyed traveling to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, and several other destinations. Jo retired from United Airlines in March 1994. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with family and friends. Three grandchildren have always been enfolded by Grandma Jo's love and support. Kris, Tami, and Sachi spent a great deal of time with Grandma Jo and Grandpa Tom. They were Jo's pride and joy. Early on the morning of Tuesday, November 28th, Jo left us at the age of 93, to be reunited with her husband, Tom, to whom she was married for 63 years. She went comfortably, quietly, and peacefully. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Otomatsu and Tamiye Nakayama, her husband, Hatsuo Tom Shioji, her siblings, Ayako Kusuno, Yoshiko Inouye, Shizuye Fujimoto, Tom Nakayama, George Nakayama, Jane Hada, Amy Konishi, and their spouses, sister-in-law, Hatsuko Edna Kurita, and brother-in-law, Frank Y. Shioji and their spouses, and son-in-law, Ken Notari. She is survived by her children: Mary Lou Notari, Cathy Shioji and son-in-law, Al Peters, Jan Shioji, and Dave Shioji; Grandchildren: Kristofer Notari, Tamiye Burlingame, and Sachiko Burlingame (Liam Adair); and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Keith H "PeeWee" Anderson Keith H "PeeWee" Anderson passed November 24, 2023, at Bonaventure Senior Living in Thornton, Colorado. He was born June 6, 1930, at his home in Brighton, Colorado to James "Jerry" and Theckla "Tex" Anderson. Keith was raised in Brighton. He met his future wife, Berniece Brown, while attending Brighton schools. They were married on November 5, 1946. They had five children; sons, Gary, James, Leslie, and David; and daughter, Joyce. Keith was a hard worker and even worked for local farmers as a teenager. He drove truck during harvest at the age of seventeen. He went to work as a mechanic and later became shop foreman at Denver Chicago Trucking (later Time D-C) in August of 1948 and remained there until their closing in April of 1982. He later went to work as a mechanic for Regional Transportation District in 1983. He served as a union steward during his time with RTD, a job he really enjoyed. He retired from RTD in 1995. Keith enjoyed the farming lifestyle although he never owned a farm. He helped at a couple of different dairies around Brighton over the years. While still working he would go to the farm after work and then after retirement spent most of his days there, stopping only when Covid hit. He liked working on the equipment at the farm. He built four cattle trailers and two flatbeds over the years. He never missed the Farm Show in Greeley. It was one of the annual events he always attended. When Les and Dave were young, he had horses and the boys participated in gymkhanas. When Joyce was older, she and her dad had Brown Swiss cattle. They attended county and state fairs for over a decade. Once they even went to the World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin. As a Brown Swiss cattle owner, he was a member of the Rocky Mountain Brown Swiss Association and served on their board in various positions. He is survived by his wife of 77 years, Berniece; son Les Anderson, and daughter; Joyce (Doug) Thaden, grandsons; Don (Michelle) Lockman and Keith (Jessie) Anderson, and sister, Geraldine Mayfield. With sadness in our hearts we announce the passing of Lois W. Stone, she passed at the age of 85 on November 13, 2023 after a brief illness at North Suburban Medical Center in Thornton, Colorado. Lois was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 18, 1938, the last of eleven children to G. Katherine Haseltine, her father was Preston Fox. She met the love of her life, Gail Douglas Stone, while working as a hotel desk clerk in Chicago. Lois and Gail married about a year later, on November 22, 1958 in Chicago. Despite the difference in their backgrounds, Lois the city girl and Gail the farm boy, made it work and were married for nearly 62 years until Gail passed on October 24, 2020. Immediately after their marriage, Lois and Gail packed up the Chevy and traveled to Nebraska for Thanksgiving with Dad's family and then to Colorado. They initially lived in Aurora, then Denver and finally moved to Thornton in 1968 where they lived for the rest of their lives. They had two children together, Jeff Stone and Lynda Zimmerman (Stone). Lois was also close to Gail's daughter from a previous marriage, Angela Smith in California. Lois was a homemaker, a Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and a business partner to Gail for most of their lives. She loved to travel (by car only, no airplanes) taking long trips to warm spots in the winter like Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Arizona and California. She also loved the National Parks, Yellowstone being her favorite. Lois loved to garden (she had a green thumb) and her yard was the envy of the neighborhood and she adored the many cats and dogs she had during her lifetime, they were a very important part of her life. Her current pets - Goldie, Missy, Ivy and Molly are missing her too. Her greatest joy was her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, who she spent much time with and talked with almost everyday. Lois is survived by her son Jeff Stone, Sister Lucille Mullen, grand daughters Kristin (Tony) Clapes, Katy (Edgar) Marmolejo, Kendra Zimmerman (Logan, fiancee) and six great-grandchildren Viviana Perez, Victoria Perez, Avrie Martinez, Adeline Marmolejo, Annalise Marmolejo and Mason Clapes. Lois was preceeded in death by her husband Gail Douglas Stone, daughter Lynda Zimmerman (Stone) mother C. Katherine Haseltine (Burchell) and siblings Clara, Ed, June, Barry (Tim), David, Richard, Kitty, Tom and Barbara.
